Ayan Messiah was one of the top safeties I covered on Day 1 and made an immediate impact from the jump. On the very first play of the game, he came seemingly out of nowhere to snag an interception, instantly setting the tone for his defense. His presence allowed his team to confidently play him single high at times, putting added pressure on everything underneath. Messiah showed a high football IQ, great range, and speed, consistently reading the quarterback and putting himself in position to make plays. A true difference-maker on the back end.

Talented athlete with great build and wide skill set. Can make you miss, has speed, and power to get out of being wrapped up. Has shown patience to let blocks set up, then mash down the pedal to get outside and run by defenders. Sees the field well along with return ball ability. Messiah will continue to develop into a dog out the backfield with a good work ethic.

One of the most dynamic prospects, regarding of position, that I’ve seen in New Jersey for this 2029 class as of October 2024. On film Messiah has the elite speed and quickness that other players wish they had. He gets to full speed in seemingly one or two steps and has vision that simply can’t be taught.
