One of the hottest prospects in Cobb County right now in the 2026 class, Carbin is coming off a strong junior season last fall where he made 48 tackles, six sacks, 14 QB hurries, 11 TFLs, and one INT to go along with two more pass-breakups. He also forced and recovered one fumble, all while missing close to four full games. He brings size, explosiveness, and knows how to make a strong, secure tackles in the open field. His talent and big-play ability is easy to see, and if he continues to develop and can hit the field fully healthy, Carbin has a chance to have a gigantic senior season next fall. His recruitment has really picked up this month, adding new offers from Florida Atlantic, South Florida, Cincinnati, and Virginia.
One of the top overall prospects in Cobb County, Carbin is a max-effort defender who knows how to hit behind his pads and strike the ball-carrier with force. Whether he’s attacking the quarterback or chasing down the running back, Carbin consistently finds his way to the ball. He’s a versatile defender who can rush the quarterback off the edge while being able to play in space and make a big tackle in the open field. His stock is on the rise, and so is his Prep Redzone ranking, coming in at No. 39 overall in the state in the latest rankings update. As a junior this season, the Hillgrove standout made 49 tackles, nine TFLs and six sacks. He’s a prospect to keep a close eye on who could see his recruitment pick up a ton over the next several months.
Chris Carbin is easily a P4 OLB eval, and he has picked up some of those offers this offseason. He is listed as 6’4 210 with plenty of length and strength. As you could expect, he is dangerous coming off the edge and has the speed profile to threaten the edge. What sets him apart is that he can drop back and play off the ball, moving around the field well for his size and coming downhill to strike. Carbin will add weight to his 210 frame and project as a pass rusher, but he is more than capable of wearing several different hats and sliding back to play off the ball, which is what sets him apart from other LBs in this class.
