Mr. Rivera is going to be the next man up as the blue devil’s lead back these next few seasons and you can see why with his skillset. As a wingback, he has the vision to find running lanes between the tackles and has lateral quickness to turn the corner. On one play he broke a 20 yard run when doing so. He’s also used in the return game where he can hit the alley hard with his foot quicks. There were a few instances where you thought he was going to break it for a long run but got shoe string tackled last second. Mr. Rivera is a shifty type of runner as a return man that flashes his ability to weave in/out of defenders to secure good starting field position for his offense. In the run game, he wasn’t utilized as much as he was on JV but don’t let that sway you away from this young man. His foot quicks through the hole and his ability to get involved in both offensive attacks make him a deadly weapon for the Blue Devils. On more than one occasion this young man was able to secure the catch in traffic and in the soft spot of the zone defenders. Here, he would take heavy hits as he’s securing the catch to keep the chains moving. As the Blue Devils showcase their aerial attack more, keep an eye on the impact this young man brings.
