Matthias looked the part when walking into the Yard on Sunday for the WI Stock Up Showcase. He then proceeded to prove that he was the best of the group. The All-State senior linebacker from Two Rivers, who measured in at 6’0, 215 lbs, earned PRZ Linebacker MVP Honors during the camp. His footwork, athleticism, and ability to use leverage in both open field tackling drills and 1-on-1’s vs the running backs stood out above all the other linebackers. The uncommitted senior is sure to find a home soon after the season that he had this fall, as well as his impressive performance at the showcase.

One of my favorite athletes over the past several years has been Two Rivers’

. He has been a two way impact player since he was a freshman, piling up impressive numbers and wins. The senior checked in as an LB for the Showcase, and showed that he is definitely a steal. On tape it was clear that Chase has the physical side of the game down. Where he really solidified himself was in proving that he also has the athleticism to play in space. Chase possesses a good blend of balance and agility to be able to face RBs one on one in running lanes or out on the edge. He also stepped up impressively while the one on one battles covering RBs. Matthias has the speed to be able to run with RBs, close on them when they break in front of him, and was able to break up passes. I’m more confident than ever that Chase has the talent to play LB at the next level. Don’t sleep on him.

If I could I would have every coach in attendance just follow Chase around. He is one of the biggest steals in the state. The senior has been an impact, game changing force since he was a freshman. The two way standout is signed up as an LB, and is going to show that he has college level talent and athleticism on Sunday. Chase is a sideline to sideline run stuffer. He is strong, has good burst, and we won’t get to see it but he is a great tackler. Coaches, make sure you watch this senior. He is a need to know athlete.

We have been a big fan of Chase’s since watching him in person at the end of his freshman year. The 6′ 215 lbs RB/LB is a powerful athlete that definitely has the traits to play at the next level. At RB, Chase is very fun to watch. He has a big frame, yet still maintains a low center of gravity and the contact balance to be able to lower his shoulder and run over LBs/DBs. His speed jumps out from the crowd as he pulls away in the open field. His vision and feel for the position are very strong as well. He makes quick decisions, and has the feet to be able to juke or jump cut away from defenders. Lastly, Matthias has natural hands and can be a reliable target out of the backfield.
Chase has just as natural instincts for the LB psoition as well. Insintcts that help him easily move through the front seven and close on the RB in the hole. He is a hard hittin tackler, and is reliable in coveage with his excellent speed/range for the position. With his recent publishing of his junior heighlights, Chase is set to jump way up in the rankings from the Watch List. Check out his tape below.

One of the top junior athletes, and it doesn’t matter which sport, is

out of Two Rivers. The junior is wrestling in the D2 195 lbs bracket. He currently sits at 29-2 prior to the Finals match. Chase made it to the finals following a 7-1 victory by decision.
On the field, Matthias has been a major factor since his freshman season. The ATH has been the go to guy at RB and LB for Two Rivers. They made it to the doorstep of a State Championship berth last fall, so big things should be in store for 2023.
