About Charles
Expert Analysis
Alex Pallone | Prep Redzone Scout
- A receiver whom I’ve been extremely impressed with for a very long time
- Wide catch radius, and lethal in all areas of the field. Personally, I like Tre best over the middle of the field.
- NFL comp: JSN
- Extremely competitive player
- A whopping 34 Division 1 offers. A blue-chip prospect who has an opportunity to go practically wherever he wants for his college ball.

The damage Tre can deal after the catch makes him one of the most dangerous weapons in the state of Michigan. Of course he runs good routes and has great hands, but his flat-out quickness makes him a threat to house anything he gets his hands on. This season he had a couple of big-time plays where defensive backs were in a full sprint and were nowhere near keeping up with him. Belleville has a great track record recently of developing receivers at a rapid clip. Tre is looking to be the best of the bunch.

Tre proved that he’s Belleville’s best offensive player. Tre was an outlier. To start, Tre flashed his RAC ability. Clarkston did a great job tackling all game, but Tre was still able to slide through tackles and earn some yards after contact.
Tre’s hands also showed up. That play at the end of the first half was a catch, without a doubt. He also had a great snag on what I think was a slant thrown a tad high. Tre is a hands catcher and is proven to be able to snag high-velocity balls on short routes. Hands are reliable, though he sometimes double clutches while trying to bring it into his body.
Lastly, Tre is a competitor. I witnessed some emotion from him. He wants to win, and doesn’t like to lose. The emotion wasn’t good nor bad- just wanted to compete and win. Much rather have that than someone who looks like he doesn’t care. Overall, my optinion of Tre has not changed. Still #2 ranked in the Class of 2027.

This offseason, Britton proved to be the full package. In reality, I think Tre is a better route runner and open-field threat than he is a physical 50/50 ball winner.
Though if Belleville needed it, Tre could play that role. Demonstrated by the very first play on Tre’s highlight tape, he’s got a phenomenal catch radius. I think of Tre the same way as I think of Amon-Ra St. Brown- typically a great weapon in space + phenomenal route runner, but if you really need it, he can catch a deep, contested ball.

Tre has been ranked very high from the jump. A few years ago, I noted that Belleville had an armada of promising young receivers, and I was interested in seeing who’d emerge as WR1.
Well, that ended up being Tre. Last season’s performance propelled him to countless Power 4 offers and a big boost in the rankings to #2.
I love how well-rounded Tre’s game is. When utilized in the slot, Tre explodes open on quick crossing routes, allowing him to flash his breakaway speed and high-end open field elusiveness. Lining up outside, Tre can easily burn just about any High School DB who dares play man-to-man. Tre doesn’t even need any fancy fakes or double moves to get open downfield. At this level, his explosiveness and top speed will work 99% of the time. Lastly, Tre is a major factor in the screen game as well as the return game. Point is, Tre is an elite speed-in-space player, and the more touches he gets, the higher odds of Belleville winning.
I highly considered ranking Tre #1. He’s as elite of a receiver as I’ve ever seen come out of Michigan. Highly confident he’ll be able to contribute at any college he chooses to attend.

Tre has absolutely exploded since the beginning of this year. In fact, during our last update, he only had offers from Utah, Marshall, Eastern Michigan, and UMass. Since then, he’s picked up offers from Alabama, UCLA, Oklahoma, Michigan, Wisconsin, and several others.
Tre’s tape sets him apart. What I like most about Tre is his ability to snag slightly inaccurate (and hard-thrown) balls, maintain momentum, and earn RAC. 0:56 in his highlight tape serves as an excellent example. No-doubt top 5 player in Michigan. Heavily leaning on ranking Tre in the top 3.

Charles was another receiver who recently earned himself a Michigan offer. He’s also a very similar player to Chad, who I talked about above.
Britton excels at running those deep/intermediate routes and absolutely burning man-to-man coverage. There are several plays on Charles’ highlight tape where he receives a ball wide open down the sideline or in the middle of the field. On top of that, I love his hands- Charles is able to lay out and catch hard-to-reach balls consistently. Right now, he’s one of the most polished receivers in the class and I’m not shocked that Michigan sent out an offer. A good case for WR1 honors.

At this point, Tre pretty much embodies “Real Deal Receivers.” He is an incredibly well rounded receiver with the ability to get open on a variety of routes. His efforts have resulted in quite a few D1/P4 offers. I really love seeing his explosive release. Once he gets to the top of his route, he breaks it off abruptly without tipping off where he’s going next. I watched him do some great work against a really good team in a big playoff game and the lights were absolutely not too bright for him. This dude is made for big time football and will definitely be a major prospect for the long haul!

Tre continues to show time and time again against high level competition just why he is a super high D1 target. The P4 schools are lining up due to his great athleticism, great catch radius and ability to run every route on the tree with great accuracy and attention to detail. It’s very rare to see an underclassman be this polished in all levels of his game, but that’s exactly what Britton brings to the table. When I saw him against Saline this season, he really shined through and was an incredibly reliable receiver who always found ways to give his QB an open target. He’s going to shine over and over for the next couple of seasons!

Apart of a stacked group of weapons, Tre has been able to stand out. It’s especially impressive considering Tre is only a sophomore.
Just last week against Saline, Tre notched two catches and a Touchdown. That TD came from a pretty solid slant route in the redzone.
His sophomore highlight tape further shows off his versatility. No matter the route, Tre has an excellent release, much of the time against press coverage. Alongside that, Tre has elite athleticism plus speed, able to take the top off of the defense as well as taking crossing routes in stride for big yardage.
Tre is about to go against a really, really good Catholic Central defense. I’m incredibly curious to see how Tre is utilized, and I hope he’s able to make some plays.
