Fairchild generated major P4 recruiting buzz throughout his process, making him another notable player to sign G6 out of HS. Up to 6’1 230 now, Fairchild is an impressive size/speed specimen. He has the play strength and pop in his pads to meet and stall RBs in the gaps, as well as the ability to hold his own against blockers. He is light on his feet, explosive, and can run. It’s his blend of finesse and power that really sticks out to me. At the level of ball he is headed to, I find it hard to believe he will be left off the field for too long.

Fairchild, an East Carolina commit, has been one of the steadiest LB prospects in Georgia over the last few years. He is a strong 6’1 225 with pop in his pads. He projects as a C gap to C gap roamer with the mass and play strength to hold his own against blockers and manhandle ball carriers. He is a willing pursuer across the field, but his money will be made coming downhill to strike and assert his will.

A tough, hard-hitting linebacker south of Atlanta, Fairchild held many respectable D1 offers, but after an official visit to East Carolina this past weekend, the 6-foot-1 210-pounder out of Lovejoy decided to make a verbal commitment to the Pirates, choosing them over Marshall, Oregon State, Kansas, Western Kentucky, among others. He’s one of the top returning defenders in the area and bound for a giant final senior season next fall.
