Mahoney brought an element of toughness and physicality to the the third and final session of the tryout this past weekend. Three athletes from Howell tried out and Mahoney completes the trilogy of the prospects earning recognition, alongside Brock Goodman Brock Goodman 5'10" | 200 lbs | LB Red Bank Catholic | 2028 State NJ and Tim O’Rourke Tim O’Rourke LB Howell | 2028 NJ . Mahoney had pretty good size at 5-foot-10 and 145-pounds (unverified) and did some positive things on both sides of the ball. As mentioned a few sentences ago, did a good job with physical play on both sides of the ball. Almost had a linebacker-like mentality in pass coverage and tight end-like skill set when battling to get open on offense. I’m not sure if he’ll make the team or not, but there is a future here.
