First off, Wright came in at 6’1 3/4″, 248.4 lbs., 76″ wing, and big, strong 9 7/8 hands that he knew how to use with ruthless efficiency. With big-time size, Wright also popped off a 5.09 40, 4.90 shuttle, and 8’7 broad, impressive numbers for his size, and after digging into Wright’s athletic profile it wasn’t hard to find that he’s a 2026 Class 1A 215-pound state champion in the Iowa prep wrestling scene. Talk about packing on the pounds! As mentioned, those strong, heavy, active hands were knocking OL off-balance and out-of-position with regularity, and he was able to go speed-to-power about as well as any DL in attendance. Wright produced at a high level for Woodbury Central in 2025. The junior registered 37.0 tackles, 28 of which were solo stops. He piled up 18.0 tackles for loss and 12.5 sacks, putting him among the state’s leaders in the latter category. We can see how Wright finds success when watching his 11th-grade highlight video. On it, there’s a college prospect with a good feel for playing on the outside of the D-Line. He understands the importance of setting the edge and proceeds with an impact after doing that.
