This jolt of force allows him to be a physical blocker, one who is mindful to get his hands on his opponent’s chest. Although I thought he was bit big and thick for a safety, I suspect that Videon-Perino might have been Point Pleasant Boro’s best athlete. He certainly is burly and thus capable of barreling through people, yet he wraps very well when tackling. Using his hands to catch the ball, Videon-Perino can maintain possession through contact. This type of versatility and prototype makes it difficult for me to pin just exactly what position he will play collegiately, but Videon-Perino certainly has the upside to play at the next level.

Calvin Videon Perino might’ve had his 2024 season cut short, but what he put on tape was enough to turn heads. The 5’11”, 205-pound two-way standout from Point Pleasant Borough makes his presence felt in all three phases. As a running back, he brings solid contact balance and shows good burst in space. He runs hard, breaks tackles, and makes defenders pay at the second level.

Perino has found a way to shine as a pass-catcher in a Wing-T offense—something not easy in a system built for the run. Whether slipping out on wheel routes or getting vertical down the seam, he creates mismatches and consistently produces after the catch. He even added a blocked punt to his résumé on special teams, a testament to his effort and nose for the football.

Defensively, he’s just as active. From the linebacker spot, Perino plays with intensity and instinct. He scans keys, sniffs out screens, and closes with authority. He’s a sure tackler in space and disrupts timing as a blitzer.

If he stays healthy in 2025, expect Perino to be one of the most impactful all-around players in South Jersey. He has the toughness, IQ, and motor that coaches love.
