No stranger to the headlines of Prep Redzone Next, Trevor Evans has long been one of the top Defensive Linemen in the state of New Jersey. After winning an AYF National Championship with the Jersey Shore All-Stars in 2023, he took a reclass year and was back it in 2024 with the St. James Royals Pop Warner program. Evans was a major piece of the puzzle for the first-year Royals, helping them to a 14U Pop Warner Super Bowl title.

One of the bigger and stronger two-way linemen in the Shore Region for the class of 2029. Battled through some injuries last year and was still a standout on the AYF Jersey Shore 14U All-Star team. While he still plays O-Line, there’s been a significant shift in focus and training to him on the Defensive Line and it’s paying off. He’s a name and face to know for the first-year St. James Royals Pop Warner program.
Has attended a Prep Redzone Next camp.

Nearly back to full strength after a knee injury in November, Evans had a strong showing. He measured in at 5-foot-10 and 221 pounds, but looks and plays significantly bigger than that–I’m legitimately surprised. No stranger to the headlines of Prep Redzone Next after good showing this December as a member of the AYF National Champion-New Jersey 14U All-Stars, Evans had a nice showing at the New Jersey Prep Redzone Next Middle School Camp last spring and did even better this time. He has been, and looks to continue to be, one of the better defensive tackles in the state for the 2028 class. Did a good job of getting violent in the trenches and mixing up push/pull moves in with classic rips and swats, to defeat the opposing offensive linemen. While other defensive linemen noticeably shied away at times, Evans took every rep he could get. He looks to be hitting his stride at the right time, as high school ball looms in the not-so-far distant future.

Evans has spent some obvious time in the weight room since I last saw him play live this past May, at our Prep Redzone Next New Jersey Camp. He was a standout at our camp 4.5 months ago and doubled down on that with a great showing this past weekend. The Point Pleasant prospect looked strong from head to toe and was seemingly the most comfortable in his stance out of all the prospects there, due to the power in his lower half. Offensively he is going to be a very good guard for this team with his ability to both a.) climb the ladder to get up and seal off flowing linebackers and b.) battle with any big 3-tech’s that are lined up across from him. Speaking of defensive tackles, he has a nice rip move that he showed off a number of times during one-on-ones. He’s almost a bit of a ‘tweener at 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds, which will allow him to show off his versatility.
