. Although he is just 6’0″ and a cheeseburger under 300lbs, he plays like Sam Adams did decades ago: a big body who occupies double teams with extreme success. Moreover, Boone has shown 3-tech abilities as he knifes into the backfield to consistently make plays. Why he is able to do this is partly due to his discipline, stopping about a yard into the backfield. I would describe Boone as a disruptive player that chases from the backside well. As a defensive line coach myself, I like his game a whole lot.
A 2028 that was identified early via Al Pops and Prep Redzone Next. Still on our watchlist. Has ample tape to justify a future ranking. 3.0 GPA. 6’0, 295 pounds as he enters upperclassmenhood. Can be flirted with at IOL, likely holds a future at IDL, however.
Has a five minute sophomore tape up on Hudl and pinned to the top of his Twitter page. Enough quality reps on Hudl to prove to myself and coaches that Boone can hold ground against double teams, shed blocks to make tackles behind the LOS, and bring some alignment versatilty, this in terms of playing multiple techniques. TFLs are littered throughout his tape, hustles to the football, all pressure he creates leads to hurries, wrong lane reads by RBs, this is a serious disruptor who is only going to get better. Can reset the LOS, love the limb strength, both upper and lower, kid is athletic but holds a ton of power. Does a great job preventing vertical movement through his gaps, even if he isn’t getting TFLs, he’s making someone’s life difficult, which has to please SA coaches. Great player here.
