About Caleb

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I play with high intensity through the echo of the whistle on both sides of the ball.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

My Mentality is to do whatever it takes to play the game I love even if it means playing through an injury.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

Yes, I am involved in the data analytics club at Mullen. I have received the torch award the past two years for being involved at Mullen. I have also received multiple academic awards from my freshman and sophomore years.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I have developed my leadership through my voice because I like to lead through my actions but our voices have a larger impact. I have earned the trust of my brothers by being voted captain last year and I have been put in multiple leadership positions in the weight room to help us succeed and work as a team.

What type of college are you looking for?

I am looking for a college that really wants me there and not just to fill a spot on the sideline.

Van Meter is a powerful interior lineman who will be looking to bounce back and reestablish himself as a top trench prospect. In pass protection, he plays with a strong anchor, using his lower body strength to absorb bull rushes and keep the pocket clean. He fires off the ball with urgency in the run game, consistently driving defenders backward and opening running lanes. His ability to control the line of scrimmage makes him a key player up front. Van Meter holds an offer from Fort Lewis, but his strength, and technique suggest he can attract more attention with a strong senior campaign. He’s a name D1 programs should be tracking closely.
