Herrera plays OT/DT for Mullen measures in at 6’4 290-pounds. As a DT, he had 21 total tackle (6 solo, 15 assisted). Herrera has good knee bend, flexibility, and body control. Does a great job re-adjusting when initially beat and winning the rep. Very good competitive toughness. Good initial quickness with good hand speed. Uses his very good hand placement and strength to control and steer defenders in both the run and pass game. Solid speed and acceleration to reach the perimeter and block out in space. Does a good job run blocking on the move and with pull blocking. Good anchor. As a DT, he implements the techniques from the offensive line and uses his physicality to split double blocks to attack the backfield. I’m excited to see how Herrera caps off his senior season!

Boomer Herrera Boomer Herrera 6'3" | 280 lbs | OL Mullen | 2027 State CO holds down the blind spot at Mullen Hs standing at a big 6’3 290. What stood out to me first was his tremendous grip strength – if Herrera gets his mitts on you, he’s not letting you get to the QB.  He also shows good blocking in space, making sure he’s protecting the inside gap first.  In pass pro he does a great job keep square to the LOS as long as he can and gets awarded with the ability to handle stunts and games very very well.  Defensively, Herrera is a wrecking ball, splitting DBL teams and penetrating gaps with havoc off the snap. Herrera is a promising two-way prospect and I’m excited to see him dominate in his senior year.
