5’8, 185 out of West Allegheny, 4.5 GPA. Size will be the first thing brought up, but it shouldn’t overshadow the film. Team captain with elite production, 1,100+ scrimmage yards and 15 scores. Physical box safety who plays like a linebacker at times. Multi-sport athlete with basketball and baseball background. Tape screams football player more than positional label. Might be tough to peg a position, but the ability is undeniable. This is an FCS-level player regardless of where he lines up. Too productive and too tough to overlook.

is a thumper. He plays in the box, deep at safety, and in the slot. While a good athlete, Cornell is a mental player. He can identify run, pass, play actions, and screens faster than most kids I’ve seen. When he makes contact with you, the plays are done like he’s a sure tackler. Cornell is physical in the slot and in the box, whether that’s in coverage or when he’s making tackles. I see Cornell being a huge stock-up candidate after his junior season.

5’8, 170 pounds. 4.3 GPA. Ranked as a DB despite history with the back position at West Allegheny. Hudl has him participating on the West Allegheny basketball court.
Has a lengthy ten-minute tape on Hudl. Registered 48 tackles, seven of which went for TFLs. Ran the ball 40 times for 250 yards and two scores, offensive production is icing on the cake in my opinion. First rep on tape has Cornell creating a QB hurry post blitz through the A-gap. Cornell is as tough as they come, a pound-for-pound enforcer who proves it as an open-field tackler. A safety/DB, one that West Allegheny can get creative with in terms of alignment. Can blitz with timing through any gap at this level, is tough enough to take on any type of build in his path. An authoritative defensive disruptor is a great/accurate label. Not a prospect unaccustomed to pass coverage, Cornell has a feel pass-cover reps on tape, some PBUs too. Stat line doesn’t show off interceptions, receptions, or PBUs. Great two-way weapon.

is a good strong safety/outside linebacker for West Allegheny. His ability to play the run and the pass is impressive. He is also an excellent blitzer who knows how to blitz from different angles. He also understands how to use his body to get around offensive blockers. He does an excellent job of covering receivers in both zone and man-to-man coverages. Finally, he is also a good tackler who does a nice job of tackling defenders in space. Cornell is a good player who should also play as a running back or wide receiver next year.

‘s tape. Here’s what I had to say in a previous piece. This was written before we ranked him a top-three DB in his class.rn
220+ scrimmage yards racked up on offense. Almost 90 total tackles on defense, an impressive start to his career at West Allegheny. Often the safety who rotates down into the box, all reps on tape are Varsity reps, always impressive seeing a freshman produce this way in big boy ball. Can flash from his pre-snap alignment to the linebacking unit. Is one of the more fearless tacklers in terms of throwing around his body weight. Not much body weight to be had, yet opposing ballcarriers are going to feel all 160 pounds this kid brings. Is occasionally brought down to the LOS to occupy an OLB alignment, don’t see that often from kids this size. Can set the edge and force outside runs in from this position. Does one hell of a job filling the alley on sweeps, he sees the lane/alley before backs do. His reps on offense are icing on the cake, this kid is a fantastic DB but his role as the secondary back is only going to expand moving forward. I won’t hold back any feelings on the kid’s game because of his size, I’ve learned my lesson with his older brother. Great player.
