The 6’3, 260 guard was impressive in a variety of ways for Kaneland in their big win over Ottawa. Larsen dominated in the run game, showcasing his ability to move defensive linemen backwards at the snap, as well as working to the second level to seal linebackers. In the pass game, Larson has quick feet and a solid punch that stops rushers in their path. He also had a sack at defensive line. And the cherry on top, Larson scooped and scored on a fumble by Kaneland’s offense for his first career touchdown. The senior offensive lineman is ready to keep shining throughout the rest of the way.

is another offensive lineman that everyone should be getting excited about. With a big frame, Brett stands around 6’3 and weighs 260 pounds. One of the things that have impressed me the most about Brett is his ability to move around on the football field. For a kid his size, you would not expect him to fly around on the field in the way he does. Brett is an explosive puller who knows how to find green grass and blow up the second-level defender who finds him in the hole. Brett’s highlight tape was a ton of fun to watch and has proven that he can be one of the top offensive linemen in the state. With some FCS interest beginning to percolate, I am sure that Brett is going to find himself near himself at one of the nation’s premier football programs very soon.

Mr. Larson is a young man that I’ve been covering for the last few seasons and one that continues to improve each year. This young man is the epitome of when people say they want their lineman to be physical and aggressive up front which is seen throughout his highlights. Turn on the highlights below and in the very first clip he gets out of his stance quickly to block in open space for a receiver screen where this young man completely decimated the cornerback upon initial contact. Segway this to his run blocking and much is the same whether he’s blocking in-line or pulling as a lead blocker to pick up 2nd level blocks. Safe to say defenders know that when they play Kaneland they’re going to be in for a long physical night. In terms of his pass protection, he gets out of his stance quickly to mirror and tie up the rushing defender once he’s latched on. This is an area that continues to improve year in and year out as well. Twitter
