Brennan Core Brennan Core 6'0" | 215 lbs | LB Phenix City Central | 2026 State AL is a really talented linebacker prospect out of Phenix City who’s coming off one of his best seasons yet, he made tons of massive plays throughout the entire season and teams at the next level have taken notice. Core is a monster over the middle of the field that makes a ton of plays down at the line of scrimmage and in the backfield. Core is a dominant run defender- he plays with a ton of speed and strength, overwhelms blockers, and fights to get to the ball carrier to make some seriously impressive tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Core is just as valuable on passing downs- he’s excellent at blitzing and affecting the quarterback, but can also make some great plays on the ball out in coverage as well. I’m really impressed with how well-rounded an LB Core is, he can make huge plays every down against the run and pass, and he’s only going to keep getting better. Core put together a huge season for his team last fall, ending the year with 108 total tackles (70 solo, 8 for loss), 4 sacks, one INT, 4 PBUs, and one FF. Since the end of last year, Core has made a name for himself in the recruiting world- picking up offers from EKU, Kennesaw State, Southern Miss, and more. His speed allows him to chase down ball carriers and make plays in space, a valuable trait for modern defenses. Core is an aggressive tackler who plays with great energy, never taking a play off. His ability to drop into coverage and disrupt passing lanes adds another dimension to his game. With a strong offseason of weight training and skill development, he has the potential to turn heads and gain serious recruiting attention.

Brennan Core Brennan Core 6'0" | 215 lbs | LB Phenix City Central | 2026 State AL is a hard-hitting linebacker out of Central (Phenix City) that is set for a big season this fall. Core has a terrific understanding of opposing offenses and what they’re trying to do. It’s extremely impressive watching how quickly Core reads and reacts to plays- he isn’t easily baited and constantly finds himself around the ball delivering hits or opening opportunities up for his teammates to make plays. Core is a really reliable tackler who uses his strength and technique to level out opposing pass catchers/ball carriers all around the field. He does a great job playing against the run but has a surprisingly good ability to make plays in coverage- on tape he causes a lot of trouble for pass catchers when he’s playing zone. Core made a ton of plays last season- he ended the year with 41 total tackles (27 solo, 2 for loss) one interception, and one forced fumble. Be sure to watch out for Core this fall, Central’s defense is set to be one of the top units in the state and Core is bound to make a ton of big plays!
