Downing was a new addition to Nevada’s updated 2025 WatchList after picking up several offers at the D-III/NAIA levels over the past few months. He’s a versatile player that played some QB as a junior but primarily showed his ability to be a reliable and committed tackler on the perimeter from his CB spot. He’s on the smaller side at 5’9″/145 but shows no hesitation making effective use of his body attacking ball-carriers low. Downing will be a DB to keep an eye on for both physical and technical growth/development this season.
