Toliver had a massive game for the Erie Tigers. He had 13 carries for 162 yards and 1 touchdown. In the passing game, he had 3 receptions for 34 yards and 1 touchdown. Toliver has very good athletic ability due to very good change of direction, acceleration, good speed, and balance. Toliver showcased good mental processing by identifying the correct gaps, and rushing through them. If he chose the wrong one, he used very dynamic cuts or spin moves to create space for himself. Toliver played some snaps as the slot receiver too. He showed good catching and good ball tracking skills. He used his athletic ability to create separation. Toliver used his strong hands and held onto the ball while getting tackled for a touchdown. During the scramble drill, he looks back for his QB allowing an easy completion. Even though the Tigers ended up losing, Toliver’s performance can’t be understated. He’s a baller looking to continue thrashing defenses in the next week.
Toliver made a statement with his explosiveness, rushing for 76 yards on just 5 carries and punching it in twice. His ability to break free in the open field, including a long TD run, highlights his potential as a game-changing back. He has a knack for making defenders miss, combined with his reliable hands in the passing game, adds another dimension to this offense.
Toliver is a two-way player with limitless potential. He earned a starting spot as a varsity strong safety in his first season and was a key contributor during a run to the semifinals. His physicality and competitive mindset give him the ability to play in the box to defend against the run and quick passes, while his overall athleticism enables him to play in coverage and defend against intermediate and deep passes. Toliver is a player who consistently stands out wherever he is on the field, helping to make him a young player worthy of an early investment.
