Against Gilman, Nyce completed 11-of-17 passes for 195 yards and one touchdown, and also added a rushing score in a 29-23 win. He has a nice mix of throws in his highlights. Both of his deep shots downfield (40-plus yards) were of the jump ball variety. The receiver made the catch both times, but I’d like to see him lead him a little so the ball can be caught in stride. The other completions were for short gains, where he gets the ball out quickly. Nyce also showed mobility in the pocket, either rolling out or moving up to avoid pressure. He also had a nice 15-plus yard run for a highlight.

Through two games, he’s completed 25-of-38 passes for 396 yards (66% completion percentage) and three touchdowns.

Brayden Nyce completed 14-of-21 passes for 201 yards and two touchdowns in his first varsity start for Bullis (49-14 win over Bishop Ireton). He also added a 31-yard run. His name should sound familiar to those who follow high school football in Virginia. Nyce transferred from Loudon County during the off-season. Last year, he passed for 1,200 yards and 12 touchdowns.
