is on our shortlist of players to watch from the standpoint of big jumps from one year to the next. Broughton started for Edison as a freshman and then moved to Sapulpa last year. In his first season as Sapulpa’s starter, Broughton threw for a little over 1,500 yards and 19 touchdowns. Not bad production from a first year starter in a new environment. Now, with a full offseason under his belt and a year of experience with the Chieftains, we think that Broughton could take a major leap forward, becoming one of the better quarterbacks in Class 6A-2. He’s definitely trending in the right direction.

is going to be a very intriguing name to watch this season as he made the move from Edison to Sapulpa this offseason. Last year, Broughton got plenty of playing time and showed plenty of moments that he’s a quarterback to watch in this class. He has a strong arm and is actually one of the more experienced 2027 quarterbacks coming into this season. And the Chieftains have the potential to be really good on the offensive side of the ball. They are moving up to 6A-2 so the competition will go up but this could be a big year for Broughton in terms of production.

is one of Oklahoma’s more experienced freshman quarterbacks heading into this weekend’s tournament. Out of the state’s 2027 QB class, Broughton was right there near the top in terms of playing time last fall. Broughton will be playing for TheUNIT this weekend and we’re fired up to get a chance to see him in person. Broughton has impressed us on film and this weekend will be a good chance to evaluate him in person. Broughton is one of the younger quarterbacks to watch on this breakdown.

had a solid freshman season for the Eagles and it was also one of frustration as he dealt with nagging injuries that forced him to miss time. Broughton was still productive and he’s certainly a quarterback to watch moving forward and it will be interesting to see what kind of offseason he has. We just got a chance to see Broughton in person over the weekend at a 7v7 tournament. He has good size and can absolutely sling it. We’re looking forward to seeing more of the Edison signal caller and then watching him take the field this fall with a clean bill of health. Out of the four quarterbacks on this breakdown, Broughton benefitted from the most varsity time.

has been one of the more productive quarterbacks in his class so far this season. Broughton has been QB1 for the Eagles and has put up some strong numbers so far this season. Edison is struggling on the scoreboard but they are playing a difficult schedule and there’s no doubt that Broughton has been thrown into the fire but he’s responded well. Broughton gets the ball out quickly, he has made some impressive throws with different arm angles and can throw off platform. His film from the first half of the regular season is impressive and we’re looking forward to seeing how he progresses.
