It was unfortunate that 2025 West Branch (OH) running back Boston Mulinix had to leave the camp portion of the event early on because he certainly looked the part out there during testing and some individual drills. Mulinix is a compact and strongly built 5’7 195 who has clearly spent ample time in the weight room and likely was pound for pound one of the strongest athletes in attendance. Mulinix has the athleticism to pair with it as he ripped off a 4.6 40, 4.25 pro shuttle, and a 3-yard leap in the broad jump. From watching his film, all of those raw athletic traits showed up in his junior highlight tape where he produced an 1,100 yards rushing and 21 touchdowns season in 2023. Mulinix is explosive through the hole and can accelerate to top speed by the time he’s through it. He has good footwork and a change of direction behind and beyond the line of scrimmage and can make defenders miss and find an open hole. Even as a shorter running back, Mulinix’s raw strength is a huge benefit to him when running through arm tackles and making the first defender miss.
The Cardinals offered him a scholarship even without getting to see him the entire camp and it’s no surprise why they’re so high on him.

earned All-Ohio 2nd team in his junior season on the back of a near 1,200 yard season as a back that puts everything he has into each carry. Mulinix is a coach’s best friend as a reliable back with the power and speed to make an impact when his number is called. He uses his compact size to his advantage to perform elusive cuts or slip through arm tackles. Doesn’t just rely on his speed, but has the power to barrel over defenders if they are in his way. Carries a lot of power in his lower body which is not only useful for his explosive burst, but driving forward after contact as well. Is a prominent runner with speed when moving to the edge. Has the top end speed to finish long runs with good endurance. Is a player that doesn’t need much daylight to turn an average gain into a big one. Puts in the work off the field in the weightroom and gets his power in the gym to translate on the field. Mulinix is a fun back to watch on his highlight reel with explosive plays and plays that just make you say ‘wow’. After the season Mulinix just had, coaches need to recognize his game as a running back that will have a big impact on their program.

plays at 110 percent each play. Mulinix hits holes hard at full speed to burst to the second level and beyond. He has good vision behind the line to attack an opening as soon as it appears. He gets up to top speed in a hurry to leave defenders chasing him with speed to put them away. Mulinix is a downhill runner who doesn’t dance around defenders and can reach the edge with his speed. Makes linebackers and safeties pay if they don’t take the right angle to him more often than not winning the foot race to open space. When a play calls for it, he does show patience behind his linemen to get a play going, then bursts through the best option to gain yardage. Has good balance to handle high hits and keep his legs moving. Mulinix is a stud in the gym and puts up impressive numbers well beyond his size. This offseason, Mulinix is getting his work in on the baseball team as a shortstop. He is an exciting player to keep an eye on as his high school career continues.
