I made sure to key in on the 6’3″ 265 lbs senior several times throughout the night in this trench brawl of a game. The big man did a great job of getting out of his stance quickly, getting hands on, and getting the angle and positioning on his man on a snap to snap basis. Blake also proved that he had the strength to drive the IDL out of a gap when needed. This is another 2027 who has made improvements to his game since his junior season. Blake moved between guard and center in his highlights this season for Chippewa Falls and has plenty of dominant wins at both. The junior is powerful interior lineman who wins with a strong lower body, heavy hands, and consistently great leverage. Clip after clip the big man is bulldozing IDL off the ball or out of gaps. The big man can also move, pulling across the formation and delivering big initial hits on unsuspecting DL. That strength also helps Blake set a stout anchor so his QB has room to step up if needed. We have spent a lot of time watching the left side of the Chippewa Falls OL where they have two impressive seniors. But when you turn your attention to the other side there is a 6’2″ 250 lbs junior making impact blocks. Blake played RG and OC throughout his junior highlights. He does really well in short areas with his movement and with his initial power on contact to create that initial surge. Blake is a raw prospect that is well worth keeping an eye on as he develops over this next offseason.
