It was my first time seeing Ewald, and he made a strong impression. He’s got quick feet and smooth cuts, with a clean burst off the line that gets him into his route fast. He caught everything thrown his way and didn’t flinch in traffic. There’s a lot to like with how naturally he moves and how easily the game seems to come to him.

Ewald is a compact back who has a nice frame that allows him to run within the tackles without an issue or getting worn down. He weighed in Sunday at just over 200lbs. He then ran fairly well putting up just under a 5 second 40-yard dash. However, where Ewald really seems to thrive is change of direction and start/stop ability. His shuttle was a very respectable 4.56. Not just that, but then when he got onto the field he showed the same traits. He’s not the fastest RB on the field, but he can cut as quick as anyone else and that makes a world of a difference in short areas.
