It was a solid showing for Ben Wood. Brother of Penn State commit Will Wood, Ben showed much promise. A lefty, one thing I want to see him do a bit more of is push the ball out to the sideline a bit more, especially when going vertical. Doing so will prevent safeties from coming over the top to play the ball. Otherwise, I still thought that Wood managed to lead his receivers extremely well in order for them to create with the ball in their hands.

The younger brother of Penn State QB commit, Ben Wood will attend Xaverian Brothers this fall and has an excellent chance to be the top prospect. Wood has elite arm talent, and showcased his ability to hit all three levels of the field. He is excellent with his footwork, and showcased a high IQ and good vision downfield.

Wood displayed excellent arm strength, touch and was accurate with short, intermediate and long passes. Very few of his passes in the one-on-one portion of the camp were not catchable balls. He ran the 40-yard dash in 4.75 seconds and also cleared 9-feet in the broad jump, which was the second-best jump of the day. He was named the camp’s top quarterback.

His mechanics are already advanced likely due to his specialized training with the top Qb trainers from the New England region M2 QAb academy. He displays a proficient ability to throw to receivers open with decent accuracy. Ben was a winner of the Top Performer QB selection by the clinic staff. I see him as an early projected rising star in the class of 2029.
