Expert Analysis
Michael Huntley | Prep Redzone Scout
Edwards is another guy who I thought looked better on Sunday than he did at the Elite 11 Regional and he was very good at that event as well. The ball comes out of his hand very nicely and he was putting nice velocity on the shorter and intermediate throws.

Edwards looked comfortable making any throw that was asked of him and looks clean mechanically. The arm strength wasn’t near the best of the day but I’m confident that will improve as his body continues to fill out. I also liked that Edwards responded to coaching well and seemed to be a sponge gathering information from all the coaches.

Edwards is completing 65 percent of his passes for exactly 200 yards per game with nine touchdowns for Tustin.
His feet are calm in the pocket and he has plus arm strength which shines on the intermediate throws. Edwards’ passing ability gives Tustin a lot of options offensively that it hasn’t had in recent years. He was recently offered by Michigan.

Edwards has the ideal size and frame for a pocket passer, and will only continue to grow and fill out as he progresses through his high school career and is looking to be a sure fire high level P4 guy moving forward. He is another kid that has a strong arm and tight throwing mechanics and is accurate on the deep ball with some real throw power across his body. He shows good throw anticipation, throwing his receivers open and can really air it out downfield with velocity and spin. He is a seemingly a quick processor that can get the ball out quick and on time and uses his legs to navigate the pocket when needed. Edwards currently holds offers from ASU, Arkansas, Oregon, Purdue, Washington, Washington State, among others and is looking to be a 20+ offer kid by the time it’s all said and done.

Edwards checks into our rankings as a top 3 passer in his class, and inside the top 10 overall after a terrific first season in high school. He is a very athletic pocket passer that can deliver on time throws, push the ball downfield and gets the ball out quick while moving through his progressions. Edwards shows poise in the pocket, keeps his eyes downfield even under duress and can fit the ball into tight spaces over the top with touch and velocity on his throws at the third level. He is not afraid to take what is given underneath, and is seemingly very smart pre-snap, knowing where he wants to go with the ball. He currently holds offers from Oregon, Arkansas, ASU, Toledo and Oregon State.
