Avery Bodner Avery Bodner 6'0" | 175 lbs | ATH Boyle County | 2024 State KY is another player that has been high on my radar for a while now and continued to impress last week. He played a key role in Boyle County’s win over Franklin County, leading his team with 17 carries for 151 yards and three touchdowns. Bodner is a downhill runner that bursts through the running lane with a sense of urgency. Once he hits the open field, he has the strength to run through defenders and speed to simply run away from them. He also caught one pass for 23 yards while also leading the team in tackles with eight and coming away with one sack on defense. Avery currently holds offers from Lindsey Wilson, Campbellsville, Union, Thomas More, Kenyon, and Eastern Kentucky, and I expect him to be a true impact player wherever he decides to play at the next level. Bodner and the Rebels will be looking to defend their state title in the 5A State Championship Game against Covington Catholic this Friday.

As both the leading rusher and the leading tackler on what many consider the state’s top-ranked team, Bodner’s performance in the Rebels’ 54-21 win over Scott County underscores both his athleticism and durability. Matching his season-high with 15 rushing attempts, he produced his best rushing night of the year thus far with 141 yards and 2 touchdowns–complemented by another 4 touches via pass receptions for 32 yards and another touchdown receiving. Also contributing 4 solo tackles, 4 assists, 2 tackles for loss and 1 forced fumble from his safety position versus the Cardinals, he currently leads all Rebel backs with 45 carries, 381 yards and 8 rushing touchdowns. Contributing 139.4 total yards and 15.5 points per game, Bodner clearly does a lot of everything for the defending AAAA state champs, and he certainly will attract a great deal of interest from next-level programs as he continues to pile up contributions like these.

Avery Bodner Avery Bodner 6'0" | 175 lbs | ATH Boyle County | 2024 State KY put on quite the show in the 4A State Championship Game, earning MVP honors while leading Boyle County to victory. While he stood out in that game, he also put together quite the playoff run as a whole. Bodner filled in at quarterback for the Rebels in the first two rounds, completing 11/14 passes for 195 yards and three touchdowns but made his biggest impact as a ball carrier, finishing the playoffs with 57 carries for 554 yards and eight touchdowns. Avery is an impressive downhill runner with great vision and the ability to hit the running lane with a sense of urgency once it opens up. Once he gets into the open field, Bodner has the speed to run away from the defense but also has the strength and contact balance to break tackles without breaking stride. Avery recently picked up his first offer from Eastern Kentucky and I expect more to come as he goes into his final season of high school football.
