This is a QB that has impressed me with his dedication to learning and developing. Equally as impressive is how much that dedication has helped his game and translated to the field. Anishka is a fun QB to watch throw. Not the biggest kid, but he can whip the ball around the field. He can get the ball to all three levels with accuracy and really drive it on a rope 25-30 yards and in. I’m a big fan of the quick release and compact throwing motion too. Anishka also has so much varsity experience under his belt with another year still to play. The 2027 is going to keep working and growing his game this offseason and be ready for a big senior season.

Maybe the most improved player since his last Showcase attendance was Anishka. His 5’9″ 175 lbs frame looks bigger and more filled out than in the past, and as a passer he impressed me and the coaching staff often. The ’27 is clearly a QB that has put in the work in the offseason. His mechanics are finely tuned and his accuracy was outstanding. Whatever the route concepts were and where the ball needed to be Anishka was going to get it to that spot. Not only was the ball placement really good, his arm strength has clearly taken a jump as well. It was impressive watching him drive the ball with little to no air underneath it when he had to hit a tight window and it had the coaches working the position impressed. Great day from the Menomonee Falls QB1.

An underclassman who impressed me with his development since this past spring Showcase is Menomonee Falls sophomore Anishka Amarasinghe. The sophomore’s arm talent has taken a step forward and so has his confidence. No doubt a big part of that comes from spending the year as the varsity starter. The confidence is what first stood out. Anishka was stepping up and standing out in the drills and seemed to attack each rep and opportunity. When we started throwing against DBs the sophomore QB went out and showed off the arm. He has gotten stronger overall and it is translating to more velocity in his throws deeper down the field. Where he set himself apart from the crowd was that the 2027 consistently accurate with his passes and it caught the eyes of our coaching staffs. His performance earned Anishka a spot in the Best vs Best reps to end the day. Keep an eye on this kid’s development going forward.

Anishka is a freshman that needs time to grow, learn, and gain experience. However, the 5’7″ 160 lbs freshman did catch my eye with a few throws. When he was throwing routes to the short areas of the field he was firing the ball into some tight windows. The velocity was there at that range to beat closing cornerbacks. The flashes were there, we just have to give Anishka time to let his game and frame grow into the position.
