Andrew Schoon Andrew Schoon 5'10" | 160 lbs | DB Point Pleasant | 2024 State WV is a quality football player and wrestler for the Big Blacks and racked up over 75 tackles last season as a junior. The 5’8 155 rising senior is a hard-hitting safety in the Point Pleasant secondary that also had several interceptions in 2022. Schoon is a rangy safety that can cover a lot of ground but is also willing to be physical and a good tackler. He may not be the biggest athlete but Schoon doesn’t shy away from contact and welcomes it. Another aspect of his game that I was impressed with was his return capability and he had several long returns last season. Schoon showed versatility as a deep safety and can also move into the box. Schoon was a Class AA All-State Honorable Mention selection in 2022. He’s a name we are going to watch for this season to potentially enter our 2024 rankings in the next update.
