DC Everest will be looking to replace their 1,000 yard rusher in 2026, but it looks like they have the weapons to do that. The leading candidate is current sophomore Andrew Bangtson Andrew Bangtson 6'0" | 185 lbs | RB/ATH D.C. Everest | 2028 State WI who finished 2025 with 53 carries for 317 yards. That is the most production returning to the RB room in 2026. The 2028 RB is a playmaker and ready for that increase in touches. He made plays on the ground and as a receiving threat. Andrew is so versatile we even saw him at TE in 2025. In 2026 we see him take the lead in the backfield and start to really pile up the production.

It will be interesting to see if DC Everest goes from Bangtson to Bangtson in the varsity backfield this fall. Andrew might not have to handle quite the workload this season, but I won’t be surprised to see him taking snaps. The ’28 RB stands out from the crowd on his freshman highlights. Superior speed, size, contact balance, and power made him allowed him to carve up the lower level defenses. Andrew also demonstrated that he can be a reliable target out of the backfield too. When a kid stands out from the crowd of his peers like Andrew did in his highlights it is a great sign of things to come. I can’t wait to see him take that step up in competition.
