To wrap up my 6A Regular Season All-State offense, I have Aiden Howard Aiden Howard 6'5" | 250 lbs | OL Madison Central | 2024 State KY from Madison Central. Howard has shown the versatility to play both guard and tackle where he is dominant as a run blocker. He explodes out of his stance and has shown the ability to drive his man several yards down the field. Howard finishes his blocks through the whistle, resulting in several pancake blocks. He is also reliable in pass protection, showing the ability to keep a strong base and not allow for much penetration into the pocket. Aiden is committed to Miami (OH) where I can see him becoming a key piece of their offensive line once he gets there.

With Malachi Wood Malachi Wood 6'8" | 280 lbs | OL Madison Central | 2023 State KY headed off to college, Aiden Howard Aiden Howard 6'5" | 250 lbs | OL Madison Central | 2024 State KY will now be the focus of the Madison Central offensive line. Howard is a big, physical offensive tackle that has been very impressive so far in his high school career. He mainly lined up at right tackle this past season and was dominant as a run blocker. Howard explodes out of his stance and does a great job of running his feet through contact to drive his man down the field. He finishes his blocks through the whistle, resulting in several pancake blocks. In pass protection, Howard has shown impressive footwork with the ability to mirror opposing pass rushers off the edge. He also does a great job of keeping a strong base and not allowing for much penetration into the pocket. Aiden currently holds offers from Southeast Missouri State and Murray State, and I expect more to come his way going into his senior year as he is a Division I caliber offensive tackle.

After starting all 12 games in 2022 at right tackle for the Indians, Howard returns for his senior season primed to establish himself as one of the top offensive linemen in Kentucky’s Class AAAAA and help lead his team to a deep playoff run. Sound footwork and hip flexibility enable him to consistently cover up first-level targets and establish a fit that generates push in the run game and helps ensure that he maintains contact throughout the play. As well, his athleticism and wide base make him an effective blocker versus second-and-third-level defenders, and his tight, inside hand placement makes it very difficult for them to shed blocks as he continually exhibits active feet and a balanced demeanor. While his pass protection–particularly versus wide/loose speed rushers–remains an area for continued focus, his fundamental mechanics are present, and with additional reps, his kick-slide and intersect points will improve. Projects well as an interior lineman (either guard or center) at the next level.
