Smith picked up lower level offers from Rocky Mountain College, Doane, and Dakota St. in December. He’s an athletic, downhill box defender that can create pressure off the edge and make plays in space as an off-ball LB. He packs solid physicality, versatility, and range. Smith is one of the more underrated LB prospects in Vegas’ senior class.

Smith picked up his first offer from Whitworth in early August. The Shadow Ridge senior LB was a breakout defender last season totaling 70 tackles (49 solo) and 7 TFLs as a junior. Smith started his senior campaign strong with 11 total tackles and 3 TFLs in Shadow Ridge’s loss to Snow Canyon on Friday.

Smith’s height was measured at 6’1″ and he weighed in at 215 pounds. This was impressive because of his 4.66 40-yard dash and 4.81 shuttle run. The measurable should start to open some doors for Smith. His highlight reel is even more impressive. He is strong off the ball at the point of attack. The Shadow Ridge LB shows the ability to shock larger linemen. Smith also pursues the ball carrier with great angles and tracks them down. The versatility he displays with the ability to play as a down lineman is another bonus. Lastly, if you didn’t like Smith for all those attributes, you will appreciate his performance on special teams. His repertoire includes blocking kicks, making tackles and throwing devastating blocks. Look for a monster 2025!

Smith is another prospect that was newly added to the 2026 rankings back in December and has continued to rise up the board during the course of the offseason. He’s a highly athletic and physical tackler that likes to get downhill and attack the backfield with speed and quickness. Showed promising versatility as a junior and carries a long, lean frame (5’11″/170) that could see him play an OLB/SS role at the next level. Smith is an underrated Vegas defender that offers some intriguing upside.
