Denton Ryan 59 – Cedar Park 14
In this State Championship game, we highlighted a few ” Standout Players” of the game. It was an exciting game to watch Friday night in Arlington at AT&T stadium. Thousands of fans were in attendance as well as watching from home as Ryan faced Cedar Park.
Ryan was able to pull out a championship victory after 18 years since their last championship title, which was back in 2002. All of the players were aware of this and did their best job to bring a trophy back home to Denton.
The Raider defense was just too much for Cedar Park and the offensive line because the defense was in the backfield all night and in Quarterbacks, Ryder Hernandez Ryder Hernandez 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Cedar Park | 2021 TX face all game long, wreaking havoc, and flying to the ball. Cedar Park’s offense just could not get in a rhythm as Ryder Hernandez Ryder Hernandez 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Cedar Park | 2021 TX was obviously was running for his life, trying to make plays happen but just could simply not. A big part of that was due to the play of Bear Alexander Bear Alexander 6'3" | 325 lbs | DL Ryan | 2022 FL . His presence alone was one that the Cedar Park O-line was just no match for, as he made tackles against the run and hurried the quarterback on multiple occasions. At times even being triple-teamed by the offensive line.

Bear has multiple offers to Alabama, Florida, Oklahoma, Texas, and Texas A&M, just to name a few.
No one stood out more than the Defensive MVP of the game, Ty Marsh Ty Marsh 6'0" | 185 lbs | DB Ryan | 2021 TX . Ty had 6 tackles, 3 pass breakups, 1 forced fumble, 1 fumble recovery, 1 pat block, and of yeah 1 interception on the game. Called by some the “junkyard dog” or the “honey badger” because of his performance in this postseason and in this championship game. The former Houston commit sure has raised his stock on his resume with his outstanding play and effort. We will keep you up to date on when this outstanding DB finally decides on a place to call home for the next four years. His play is outstanding, he has great speed and agility, obviously, a high motor, paired with the pursuit and playmaking ability make for one great player. I believe Ty has a high ceiling at the next level and maybe even seen playing on Sundays.
5A DI State Title Defensive MVP🏅:
Ty Marsh – Denton Ryan
Marsh was fabulous the last two weeks forcing a handful of turnovers as he played a great brand of ball. The 2021 prospect has yet to find a home but his resumé has officially been boosted.#UILState | @dctf + @TyMarsh7 pic.twitter.com/lfqeOuaRVp

UT commit of course had himself a game for the Raiders, racking up 5 receptions for 82 yards and a one-handed touchdown grab, that comes as no surprise, as this athlete has made Randy Moss type of catches all postseason long. Billy Bowman Billy Bowman 5'10" | 180 lbs | ATH Ryan | 2021 State TX accumulated 63 yards receiving and a touchdown.

Quarterback Seth Henigan who is committed to Memphis had a great game completing 15 of 23 passes for 270 yards and four touchdowns, earning him the Offensive MVP of the game. Senior running back Ke’Ori Hicks rushed for 128 yards and two scores on the evening.
For Cedar Park, quarterback Ryder Hernandez Ryder Hernandez 6'0" | 190 lbs | QB Cedar Park | 2021 TX finished completing 24 of 44 passes for 285 yards two touchdowns, and two interceptions. Even on a bad game rider managed to have nearly a 300-yard passing game and finished the season with 4,523 yards and 60 touchdowns. This quarterback is still uncommitted at the moment and has multiple offers.
However, Ryan was able to secure its third state championship in school history and spot in the top 10 nationally. The Raider’s defense was one of the best in all of Texas this season and in the nation, holding an offense that averaged 54.2 points per game to 14. Ryan forced three turnovers and turned one of those into a defensive touchdown. Hence highlighting the old saying ” Defense wins championships”.
