Ranked as the No. 2 RB prospect in Georgia for the 2028 class, Hartsfield is a dynamic, productive back from Covington who earned a new major offer this week from the Michigan Wolverines. The speedy 5-foot-11 185-pounder ran wild as a sophomore for over 1,300 yards and 12 touchdowns. He hit the 100-yard mark seven times and averaged an outstanding 12.3 yards per carry. He shows breakaway speed down the perimeter with enough toughness and strength to pick up yards after first contact. Look for Hartsfield to only get better in 2026.

The 6’0 205 RB is living up to expectations. The #2 ranked RB in the 2028 Class leads all sophomores with 492 yards on just 44 carries. Explosive back with great vision at the LS and has the speed to break away from defenders at the 2nd level.
Hartsfield is already a National recruit and has the potential to reach the 5-Star level by his Senior season. A highly featured RB on our site. Read what Elise Benton wrote in Five Georgia Playmakers You Need To Know

is truly a man on a mission, he’s if you’ve ever seen him play then you know he’s electric. This Newton running back runs with a downhill style that makes defenders question their life choices. At 6’0”, 205, Kevin brings the kind of physicality that wears down defenses in the third and fourth quarters. But don’t get it twisted — this isn’t just a bruiser. Kevin has surprising top-end speed, enough to turn the corner and take it to the house. He’s the heartbeat of Newton’s offense, and when he’s rolling, the whole team feeds off his energy.

Hartsfield is a name we are very familiar with here at Prep Redzone. Our staff has him as the #1 overall ranked RB in the 2028 Class and he showed flashes of his potential last year in a limited role. He averaged over 14 ypc on 51 carries, scoring 8 TDs for the Rams. The rising Sophomore has all the tools to be successful. Good vision, speed, shiftiness and size will make Hartsfield one of the top RB recruits in the 2028 Class.
Outlook:
P4 prospect with big upside. Will top the 1000 yard mark in 2025.

An explosive back with breakaway speed, Hartsfield is a natural runner who certainly didn’t run like a first-year back this fall. He’s already becoming a national name across the country and recently earned an in-state offer from the Georgia Bulldogs. He brings a strong frame and runs hard behind his pads after contact. He’s elite and now ranked as the No. 1 RB and the No. 4 overall prospect in the state for the 2025 class. As a freshman, Hartsfield ran for 724 yards in a backup role with 8 touchdowns for an average of 14 yards per carry.

has emerged as one of the premier 2028 prospects in the state this fall. Several offers have rolled in this fall, including P4 ones. Hartsfield has been incredibly explosive this year, rushing for 303 yards on 13 carries, which is 23.3 YPC (!). Hartsfield has shown that he can contribute inside and out of the tackles. He plays with good patience and locates running lanes well. He runs with good contact balance despite being thinner at this stage of development, frequently breaking a handful of tackles as he trots away for long TD runs. He is a bouncey runner with the speed and acceleration to beat defenders to the edge. In the open field, he is a high-knee driver with breakaway speed. Hartsfield is a candidate to be the No. 1 RB in Georgia in the 2028 class and will be a certified blue-chipper.

A shifty back with impressive size, vision, and above-average speed, Hartsfield is a promising back on the rise who will see his recruitment blow up sooner than later. He’s one of the more versatile and productive freshmen in the area, rushing for 303 yards so far this season with two touchdowns on just 13 carries for an eye-opening 23 yards per carry. He’s coming off a giant game against Archer where he took off for 190 yards on just six carries. Look for his share of carries, and stock on the recruiting trail, to soar over the next few weeks. He’s a major 2028 prospect to keep an eye on over the next three years.

is already reporting an early offer from Georgia State, instantly landing him on this list. Hartfield has projected as an RB in his early years, but it looks like he might start out at WR in HS, at least that’s where he got reps this spring. He is shifty in space and has some make-miss to his game. He will thrive getting the ball in space, which might be a solid reason for splitting him out wide. However, at 5’11 185, he is already well-built and will only get bigger. If he can get up to 5’11 200, a move back to RB would absolutely make sense.

4.62rnHartsfield measured out at 5’10 186 and was my overall MVP at the RB position last weekend. He already possesses a high school body and has an advanced IQ on the field for his age. He is ranked as the #24 overall player in the 2028 Class in Georgia and is one of the top RB prospects among the rising freshman this Fall.
Depending on his physical development, I could see this guy being a standout at multiple positions in the future at the high school level. He is from the Covington area and is one to watch going forward, definite rising star.

. He is a bigger ball carrier with speed who finishes runs. At 5’10 180 pounds Hartsfield has no problem carrying the load for his team. Last week he tallied up 165 rushing yards, 98 receiving, and 4 touchdowns in a victory. As a former running back, I love to see players utilize their weapons. Hartsfield does just that. Lowering shoulder, stiff arm, and a violent rip through contact is something you can expect if you’re trying to bring him down. Don’t sleep on his hands either. Getting him involved in the passing game is just as threatening to defenses who have the task of slowing his production down. This Future Stars RB has a lot of accolades already and looks to follow big bros footsteps to receiving a dozen or more offers to play big time ball.
