One of the biggest steals in the state is Marquette’s DB Patrick O’Brien Patrick O’Brien 6'3" | 190 lbs | DB Milwaukee Arts | 2024 State WI . He has elite length and strength for the CB position. Patrick has experience in the slot and out on the boundary. The senior has the speed to run deep with receivers in man coverage. He can change direction out of his backpedal efficiently. His awareness in zone coverage is perfect for the next level and led to him making a lot of tackles on short passes and jumping routes for INTs. I have mentioned it a few times, but I truly believe Patrick has a high ceiling as a safety prospect. He can step up and play as a CB when needed, but his play in zone coverage, his range, and his tackling plus the big frame scream starting safety. Check this steal out.

Stats: 5 Tackles, 1 PBUrnPatrick is one of my favorite WI DBs. The senior has elite size that gives him the versatility to line up at CB or safety at the next level. O’Brien plays CB in HS, but his zone awareness is another reason why I like him at safety. PJ is quick to see receivers entering and can change direction to close on them and make catches difficult. The big DB is also a good tackler. This is one of the biggest steals in the state at this point in the recruiting process. Give him a look.

Stats: 10 Tackles, 2 INTs, 1 Pick Six, 4 PBUsrnPatrick is a dominant DB in the 2024 Class that needs far more attention that he has received. Watching the tape, O’Brien looks like a future high end safety prospect. He has a great frame for the position, yet is able to cover ground and run with receivers downfield. PJ is also a high IQ football player. He does a great job of quickly diagnosing plays and putting himself in position to impact the play. The rising senior also has the ball skills to not only break up passes, but also reel in INTs. Patrick has the size, athleticism, ability to play zone or man coverage, and reliable ball skills.

I am quickly becoming a big fan of the 6’3″ 190 lbs CB out of Milwaukee Marquette. The size that Patrick has is elite for the position, and opens the door for him being a three level safety as well, potentially. Watching the tape, O’Brien takes smart, calculated risks to under cut routes while in man coverage to break up passes. He trusts his quickness to be able to make those short area plays. It is impressive watching him flip the switch from man coverage CB to run stuffer too. He flies downhill and will blow up RBs out in space when he gets the chance to square up and run his feet through the hit. Despite his size, Patrick is also able to change direction rather smoothly thanks to his quick feet and loose hips. It is time for him to make his mark on the recruiting trail. Don’t overlook the best DB still available.

Our highest debuting DB is also our new #1 uncommitted defensive back in the state. That is Milwaukee Marquette’s Patrick O’Brien Patrick O’Brien 6'3" | 190 lbs | DB Milwaukee Arts | 2024 State WI . The cornerback has a massive 6’3″ 200 lbs frame and 4.55 speed. Out on his island, Patrick has shown the quick feet and hips to be able to turn and run downfield with receivers. His awareness and play diagnosing are very strong traits as well. O’Brien can also be counted on against the run. He is aggressive when flying downhill to stop the run game. Between his size, range, recognition, and tackling I wouldn’t be surprised to see Patrick get recruited as a safety. I believe he could thrive at a high level of competition there.
