Chilton has been a versatile piece for the Westland defensive unit. He can play inside as a rush tackle and on the edge. He shed blocks quickly. He’s a good athlete who can win with his foot speed. Shamar demonstrates several reps of reading the quarterback and making simple yet effective plays. He currently holds two D1 offers.

Very good run defender. Can lock out, set an edge, and force tailbacks inside where other DLs can clean up the play. Has a decent motor with above-average pursuit. Can be very disruptive.

Chilton plays defensive end for Grove City. While his film is junior varsity, he has traits that are easy to project forward. He’s explosive off the snap and accelerates quickly once he beats his man. What I like about him goes beyond his explosiveness. Shamar shows some polished pass rush moves that combined with his explosiveness make him very difficult to block. There is one play I’m thinking of specifically where his get off gets the offensive lineman on his heals and in one fluid and violent motion he dips his shoulder and rips to beat his man. As he continues to add good weight and strength, I think Chilton has an opportunity to turn into a really good varsity level defensive lineman who will start to get college attention.

ShaMar is an effortlessly quick edge rusher. He is the last guy you want to leave unblocked with his speed and acceleration to the quarterback. His ability to beat tackles out of their stance and get around them is impressive. He is mainly more of a speed rusher but shows good strength and enough power to drive back tackles. He also plays the run well and shows good ability to get off blocks and find the ball carrier. He is great at finishing plays and affecting them even when he doesn’t get a hit on the quarterback. I am excited to see him make the jump to varsity football and will not be surprised to see him getting more attention.

stood out as one of the most well-rounded athletes competing at the showcase. While he plays along the defensive line, Chilton would make for a defensive standout at the defensive end or defensive tackle position. His athletic abilities are well beyond that of a player in the 2027 class. He possesses rare speed and power built into a full-framed player that is still growing. Explosive off the snap with elite quick-twitch reaction. Bull rush or speed rush moves that can overwhelm even the top offensive linemen. Power in his lower body that can drive bigger linemen off the line. Natural movements to maintain a low approach when firing into offensive linemen. Pays attention to the little movements his opponent makes, can feel a weakness and attack. Although only a freshman, Chilton is a special player in the making and one college coaches already need to keep an eye on.

Chilton has a recent social media post where the caption reads “can’t fake strong” and that is a major truth. The future Grove City High School student-athlete calls Ohio home and looks to be hitting his stride physically. Has slimmed down and rocked up significantly since his eighth-grade season ended this past fall. The balanced speed/power defensive end prospect stands an explosive 6-foot and 210-pounds right now. His weight room numbers are eye-catching with a 225-pound bench press, 380-pound squat and 445-pound deadlift. Couple those numbers with his improving-feet and he’s a kid that has a really good shot, especially if he tacks on some more height.
