Mason Semmel Mason Semmel 6'3" | 210 lbs | ATH Hamburg | 2024 State PA is a good player who played as a tight end/slot receiver for Hamburg last year. He is a good match-up piece for an offense. He has good hands and runs excellent routes. He is very good on 50/50 balls where he usually comes down with the catch. He can be used as a flex tight end, a slot receiver, or a wingback. All 3 he shows good ability to block and catch the ball. Semmel recently got an offer from East Stroudsburg University, which be a good fit for Semmel.

Mason Semmel Mason Semmel 6'3" | 210 lbs | ATH Hamburg | 2024 State PA already ranks as a Division One prospect, his performance this past weekend cemented why I think so highly of the young man. Four catches, 165 yards, three of the four catches went for touchdowns. Highly recommend plugging in his Warrior Run tape, primarily working as a stand-up in-line TE, Semmel chipped and released, working the middle of the field well. Looked like a man among boys, Semmel was also tasked with pulling and blowing up defenders in the run game. An easy Friday night that conveyed the complete spectrum of Semmel’s skillset. WR had no answer for this kid, as the senior also recorded multiple PBUs as well as a sack at LB.

Must have said it 3-4 times at this camp, I don’t know how I let this kid slip on my radar. I need to do a better job repping Hamburg and other neighboring schools as a whole, yet missing this kid and having his first PRZ piece be this late into his HS career is tough to swallow. I’ll gladly share his name moving forward. Semmel was the first prospect at this event that caught my eye, I eventually fell down the rabbit hole of figuring out who he was. Phenomenal build, an incredible work ethic shows itself with one look at his physique or Twitter. A real 6’3, almost touching 6’4, 225 with H-Back and OLB capabilities, Semmel decided to spend the camp at WR/TE, showing off his stride out of his stance, as well as his hands and overall athleticism. I’d argue he had the best overall performance among a group with real scholarship offers. He’s going to get his. Captain, wrestler, and athlete on the track, this kid is the ideal college prospect.

The lone Keystone State pass-catcher on today’s list also happens to be a tight end. With a big body, Semmel has ideal size to be an in-line tight end and also the athleticism to run routes and be a QB’s safety blanket. Semmel did a nice body leveraging his big frame to box out defenders’ access to the ball. What I feel put Semmel over the top though was his ability to high point the ball. So to recap, he does a nice job impeding the defense’s path to the ball with his large frame and he can go up top to make a reception. How would you defend Semmel?
