The days of a pure pro style quarterback are all but long gone. Today, with heightened size and speed at every level of the game, quarterbacks must be able to move and move well to keep from costing their respective teams dearly on every snap. Let's look at some of the best to do it in the class of 2025.

[player_tooltip player_id='205580' first='Kelden' last='Ryan'] I PRO STYLE QUARTERBACK •6'2" | 193 LBS I CLASS OF 2025 @ ALL SAINTS EPISCOPAL | FORT WORTH, TX

[player_tooltip player_id='205580' first='Kelden' last='Ryan'] can do it all and is a OC's dream. There is no wrong play call when it comes to Ryan. He is a magician at extending plays and making something out of nothing. Ryan is extremely base blocking or zone blocking friendly when it comes to his offensive line and knows how to position his body within the pocket to make both book-end tackles correct more times than not. If linebackers prove to be undisciplined, he will make the entire defense pay greatly with a massive scamper through the middle or around the edges. Ryan has the arm talent to make every throw and do so on the run. Two words to describe him would simply be instant offense.

[player_tooltip player_id='432374' first='Kevin' last='Sperry'] I PRO/DUAL THREAT QUARTERBACK •6'1" | 190 LBS I CLASS OF 2025 @ ROCK HILL | FRISCO , TX

Whether is the scheme or just [player_tooltip player_id='432374' first='Kevin' last='Sperry']; film shows that this kid gets the pill out early, fast, and on target. Sperry is a pocket savant when it comes to his detailed footwork. He doesn't waste steps or read time on plays. This makes him the ultimate coachable signal-caller. [player_tooltip player_id='432374' first='Kevin' last='Sperry'] shows a great IQ for the game and enough athleticism to keep the second level of the defenses he faces honest. Looking off the safety to pull a receiver into a window for the catch is a mainstay in his bag of tricks on film. His style of play translates very well to the next level and look for him to continue his ascention within the rankings.

[player_tooltip player_id='281706' first='Sawyer' last='Anderson'] I PRO STYLE QUARTERBACK •6'0" | 180 LBS I CLASS OF 2025 @ PARISH EPISCOPAL SCHOOL | DALLAS, TX

[player_tooltip player_id='281706' first='Sawyer' last='Anderson'] is a very distinct type of quarterback. He comes with a package of great burst in his straight-line speed and a commanding rifle of an arm. He doesn't show a great deal of agility but if he takes off and you take the wrong angle as a defender, he's going to hit his head on the goalpost for the score. He steps into every throw and puts a little pepper on it for good measure to make sure the ball reaches his target before the window closes. He has good outside should placement on his sideline 9 routes and back-shoulder intermediate calls. Anderson will be an x-factor for Parish Episcopal this year and they look forward to potentially riding his skillset into the playoffs and beyond.

[player_tooltip player_id='281129' first='Eli' last='Morcos'] I PRO STYLE QUARTERBACK •6'1" | 190 LBS I CLASS OF 2025 @ LAKE CREEK | MONTGOMERY, TX

[player_tooltip player_id='281129' first='Eli' last='Morcos'] has been thoroughly impressive taking over as the QB1 for Lake Creek High School. The 6'3 205-pound sophomore shows off a rocket arm, the consistent ability to look off safeties to open up backside throwing windows, touch on deep corner routes, back shoulder passes, and a balanced demeanor that seemed to give him a “next play” mentality beyond all game scenarios. Morcos is a touchdown-throwing machine. Morcos will be taking over a 10-0 program next season at Lake Creek High School in Montgomery, Texas. Head coach Pat Kennedy has given the ball to #4 because this kid is a flat-out dude! Morcos checks all the boxes including registering a 4.0 GPA.

[player_tooltip player_id='921479' first='Ty' last='Hawkins'] I DUAL THREAT QUARTERBACK •6'0" | 175 LBS I CLASS OF 2025 @ CLAUDIA TAYLOR (LADY BIRD) JOHNSON | SAN ANTONIO, TX

[player_tooltip player_id='921479' first='Ty' last='Hawkins'] is a pocket passer who only runs when completely necessary. The problem is; when he is forced to run, defenders sometimes wished that he stayed in the pocket to pass! He is equally talented as a skilled passer and scrambler. Hawkins scans the field extremely well and plays with a great deal of poise. He never seems to be in a rush. He plays the game at his pace and simply moves the chains and digits on the scoreboard. Hawkins can be listed as a pro-style or dual threat quarterback which serves his program well. Look for him to become a household name when his recruitment places him against the other top tear gunslingers in his class and state.

The days of a pure pro style quarterback are all but long gone. Today, with heightened size and speed at every level of the game, quarterbacks must be able to move and move well to keep from costing their respective teams dearly on every snap. Let's look at some of the best to do it in the class of 2025.
