has a list of accolades: First Team All-Metro, First Team All-VISAA, First Team All-Prep, and First Team All-State, which is remarkable. Khalid is a true shutdown defensive back who can tackle and make big plays. Rainer has very fluid hips and a sense of awareness and discipline on when to make a break on the ball. No matter where the ball is or is traveling, best believe

is somewhere nearby; he has a true nose for the ball and can contribute anywhere on the field to help his team thrive. This young man is going to give it his all this last season for Trinity Episcopal as he prepares himself for graduation, and he will be leaving his mark there as well. Has built an amazing legacy at Trinity.

Rainer is the top defensive back in the state of Virginia and his offer list lends credence to that fact. Duke, Penn State, Michigan, Wisconsin, South Carolina, USC, and Pittsburgh are several of the 10-plus schools that have offered him. I don’t know if it’s anything Rainer can’t do on the football field from a defensive standpoint. He can line up at either safety or cornerback. His most recent season highlights show him breaking up passes, laying the boom on people, and even sacking the quarterback. He’s got what they call that “dawg” in him. It’s no surprise, being as though his father is 8-year NFL vet Wali Rainer.

is an elite-level player who has several spring visits lined up with Michigan, Michigan State, Virginia Tech, Duke, Penn State, Georgia, Rutgers, and Kentucky. Versatile to play Outside Corner, Slot, and Safety, his elite athleticism allows him to be versatile on the field. He can align in Press, Soft, and Off Coverage, showing elite foot quickness, short area quickness, and change of direction to play tight man coverage. He has the range to play Safety and patrol the back end of pass coverage. He is good with his hands to disrupt routes and deflect passes, playing through the receivers’ hands. He is also a very good run defender, able to come downhill quickly with good angles and making tackles. He is fun to watch and has a bright future ahead in his football career.

5’11, 165. Put forth incredible freshman tape after his first year at Trinity Episcopal School, a program that’s a part of the Virginia Independent Schools Athletic Association, away from the VHSA. Leads all 2027 Virginia prospects in terms of recruiting heat, Rainer has over 20+ offers to date. The likes of Michigan State, Penn State, USC, and Duke are all lining up to attempt to build something early with a young man who reminds me a ton of PA’s top 2027 prospect, Larry Moon.
Tape begins with Rainer showing off his ability to collapse on his zone and make open-field tackles. A good blend of 1v1s, mixed in are block shedding reps that display just how nasty a tackler Rainer can be. A ton of tone-setting energy exhausted, kid has juice to his game outside of coverage skills. Has experience playing on an island, first coverage rep has Rainer playing man/press. Awesome balance through contact, great use of his inside-hand to stab and force leverage outside. I don’t see too many freshmen with bump-and-run capabilities like this. Has a natural feel for playing off-coverage, can break on the football without having to keep eyes on the quarterback. I have to pump the breaks a bit but the young man almost looks college-ready after his first tape. Likely not ready for Big10/SEC ball of course, but Rainer is way ahead of the curve in terms of technique and feel. A ton of Rainer’s tape showcases his edge-setting capabilities in run support, I bet there are potential suitors who are waiting to see more coverage reps once his sophomore tape releases, despite a good chunk of coverage reps scattered throughout his four-minute tape. Would love a chance to see this DB in person this Fall.

Our number 1 overall prospect is future Power 5 cornerback Trinity Episcopal’s

. In a follow of NFL talent the younger Rainer is next in line and is already making an impact on the field with last season’s second team all state selection.
Playing in the VISAA which has division 1 athletes across the conference, Rainer is a fierce tackler, is impossible to block and by the way is a lockdown corner at age 15. Already obtaining offers across the country from USC, Virginia Tech, Hampton and most recently with Michigan State, like his father and older brother you’ll see this kid on Saturdays very soon.

Khalid has been on Prep Redzone’s radar for a while now and was previously featured by Al Pops. He is a corner that you can leave on an island with elite press man coverage technique, showing patience at the snap before quickly jamming the WR with explosiveness to disrupt his release. He also can play in both Soft and Off coverage, showing very good backpedal and hip fluidity to match the WR with tight coverage. He also is very good in run support, can shed the blocks of WRs, and is not afraid to be physical at the point of attack. Khalid has Power 5 ability and has already fielded offers from the likes of 4" target="_blank" rel="noopener" rel="nofollow">Michigan, 6" target="_blank" rel="noopener" rel="nofollow">South Carolina, 3" target="_blank" rel="noopener" rel="nofollow">Indiana, and 9" target="_blank" rel="noopener" rel="nofollow">Penn State among many others.

Virginia – There’s not too much to not love about what Rainer adds in value on the football field. Above all else, the kid competes and holds himself and everyone else around him to a very high standard. At 5-foot-10 and 160 pounds he can shut down opposing receivers with finesse but can also lay the wood if the situation calls for it. Comes from tremendous bloodlines with a dad that played in the NFL and a pair of D1 older brothers. He’ll be at Trinity Episcopal School.

-Without question of the most fundamentally sound Cornerback’s I’ve seen in the 2027 class to date. I’m a firm believer in there always being things to improve on–because there always are. However, I’m struggling to find anything to pick apart in Rainer’s game
-Another prospect where bloodlines and genetics are alive and well. Khalid is the son of former UVA and NFL Linebacker Wali Rainer. He’s also the younger brother of 2023 Linebacker

of Georgia above, Rainer is a kid I would have no problem pulling the trigger on right now with an offer, if I were a college football coach. I joking said to Rainer that there’s crazy talent in the Rainer household and he replied, “{crazy talent} is THE standard here.”
