For those who are not aware this District had four teams reach the state playoffs and the Patriot Pioneers losing in the Regional Finals to eventual champion Freedom High School. Below is part 1 of the rising juniors in the Cedar Run District:
Braden Boggs
Braden Boggs
Whether it is receiver, running back or quarterback Boggs has done it all for the Bobcats as he has accounted for over 40 total touchdowns in his first two seasons. Boggs can do it all making him an even more viable attraction for FCS level coaches with his ability to throw and run after the catch. Maybe the fastest kid in the Cedar Run District, he has been clocked in a 4.5 40, expect that time to go down. Should be interesting to see his role this year Battlefield, he is the type of talent that needs the ball in his hands every play. http://www.hudl.com/v/2K0UAY
Brandon Binkowski
Brandon Binkowski
If Boggs isn’t catching touchdowns, Binkowski certainly is as he hauled in 10 scores last season. Standing at 6’3 with good speed, the guy is a major weapon making the Bobcats a must see offensively for 2023. I would anticipate Boggs transitioning more to quarterback and Binkowski being his prime weapon this fall but we still have a ways to go with all of that. Needless to say this rising junior should lead the district in touchdown receptions depending on how Battlefield operates. http://www.hudl.com/v/2JGFCr
Darian Whitaker
Darian Whitaker
The Pioneers had a great late season run nearly, with a team that was heavy on the seniors for 2022. One of the key returnees is their Middle linebacker Darian Whitaker who certainly made a name for himself already. Whitaker is excellent in space and has good range and hands making it tough for opponents to complete any pass over the middle. He is a perfect sideline to sideline linebacker with solid speed and is stout against the run. With the loss of several key players expect the Pioneers to rely on his leadership early on and for him to make a name for himself. http://www.hudl.com/v/2K29H8
Alaric Ahrens
Alaric Ahrens
A stout man in the middle will also help Patriot as Ahrens returns looking to earn all district honors this season. Standing at 6’2 he has the perfect height and build to play at the next level. Watching his tape the command he possess before every snap is very impressive, add on the fact his footwork is on point. He also plays defensive tackle and is disruptive there, I think his best bet for college is on the offensive line but we will see how this season turns out. http://www.hudl.com/v/2K7R1Y
Jose Argueta-Ortiz
Jose Argueta-Ortiz
For the YellowJackets to being their turnaround from last years 1-9 campaign, Argueta-Ortiz will need to be one of them to lead the charge. The 5’9 250 lbs. offensive lineman has the tools to play college football, possessing solid hand and footwork. Would like for him to add some more strength this offseason which will only enhance his opportunities. http://www.hudl.com/v/2JjSAs
