After a huge junior season, Rooney is in store for a great senior year. He has sideline to sideline ability at the linebacker spot and was a tackling machine last season. His instincts were amazing and he delivered some very hard hits last year. He’s another senior leader that Fordham will rely on this season. The Rams will also utilize his old school toughness on offense. He will be a great blocker for this Fordham run game that has a high ceiling.

Rooney could play RB or LB in college, with college RBs getting even bigger and bigger he fits that 215+ lb range that we so many schools play their workhorse RBs at. Has good instincts and trigger downhill defensively on tape as well.

Sean Rooney Sean Rooney 6'0" | 220 lbs | ATH Fordham Prep | 2025 State NY out of Fordham Prep is explosive and always making plays in the backfield. Rooney does a good job of using some really solid upfield burst to get past the LOS and does a good job of finishing plays. In coverage Rooney is solid and finishes receivers right after the catch limiting their ability to extend plays. Rooney is already a good run defender but continuing to add more agility and quickness to his game would turn him into a more well rounded prospect.
