might be signed and headed to Weatherford to play for SWOSU as a DB but we still love his playmaking ability at the wide receiver position. In all honesty, we could have put Rowland in three different positions for this breakdown. Wide receiver, defensive back or just a general athlete. Either way, he was one of the top overall prospects in this class. Similar to Green, he might have flown under the radar during the season because of team struggles but make no mistake, this kid is an absolute game changer and has the potential to be an absolute star.

is in a similar boat to Green at Classen. Like Green, Rowland is arguably the team’s best player and so he plays many more roles than just wide receiver. But we first got a chance to see Rowland in the offseason when we did our annual “Friday Film Review” series. We looked at him on film and immediately became impressed with his natural playmaking ability at the wide receiver position. Later on in the offseason, Rowland would shine in various 7v7 tournaments and he would make an impact on both sides of the ball. So like Green, it’s very possible that by the time our next update is published in January, Rowland could be under a different position label. But for now, we’re keeping him at wide receiver because he is incredibly dynamic on that side of the ball. He was one of the more impressive receivers we watched on film in the spring.

is a prospect that we found out about shortly after our January update and immediately shook our head. Rowland was one of the first athletes we featured in our “Friday Film Review” series and his film was one of the top films we watched from a wide receiver. Rowland is going to also line up at defensive back for the Eagles and he could very well be a DB at the next level. But based on watching his film and then seeing him in various 7v7 settings during the offseason, it’s hard not imagining Rowland as a game-changing wide receiver. Colleges are starting to take notice as well as he received several offers earlier this year and that’s probably just the tip of the iceberg. Rowland has size, speed, hands and very special vision when the ball is in his hands.

in our first edition of the Friday Film Review series. He was a prospect that we didn’t know much about but his film was very impressive, specifically at the wide receiver position. Within 24 hours of that article dropping, Rowland picked up his first D1 offer from UNLV. And as we wrote last week, UNLV is putting a high priority on recruiting Oklahoma with all their Oklahoma ties on the coaching staff. This past weekend, we got our first chance to see Rowland in person while he played with Sooner 7 down in Texas. He passes the eye test in a big way and he has the chance to have a huge spring and summer. It appears that it’s already started.

is a prefect example of why we do this feature during the offseason. It gives us a chance to see new names that might be underrated as prospects and need more attention moving forward. Rowland checks both of those boxes. We went into the film breakdown thinking that Rowland would be listed as an athlete in our system because he plays and produces at wide receiver as well as safety. After watching the tape, Rowland is not only a wide receiver moving forward in our opinion, but he’s definitely a 2024 prospect that should be ranked moving forward. Rowland’s film might have been our favorite film that we watched this week. He’s definitely on the short list if he isn’t at the very top. Rowland has good size at 6’1 and 180 pounds and has a lot of strength in his game. He is incredibly strong after the catch and there were many times when he took a screen pass or a quick slant and turned it into a touchdown in the blink of an eye after shaking off an arm tackle. Rowland also impressed with his very quick cuts and sudden movements with his feet. He had one play on the goal line where he faked a quick slant and cut back towards the pylon and by the time the defender realized what happened, it was a touchdown for Edison and Rowland had more than five yards of separation.
