It was an event I’ve wanted to check off my scouting list for a while and was honored by the hospitality of Williams and Camp Director Armani Reeves when I arrived at West Orange High School last Sunday to get some eyes on their Orlando Regional. If you haven’t seen my earlier article highlighting the top offensive and defensive linemen, make sure to head to the PrepRedzoneFL home page and give that a look, as big boys from Orlando, Tampa, and Palm Beach, as well as from Georgia and even Canada, made their mark on the day of competition and caught PRzFL’s eye. Now, it’s offensive skill position time, and of all the position groups represented on Sunday, the Quarterbacks and Wide Receivers were the two deepest. Stud gunslingers and pass catchers from 4-5 graduating classes were represented in Winter Garden, and PRzFL and PRzNEXT have the exclusive recap of the day’s action. Let’s get to know the Top QBs and WRs from the NEXTGEN Orlando stop below. Great work, fellas!

Quarterback
#218: Brady Hart Brady Hart 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Cocoa | 2026 FL (Melbourne) 2026. 6’5, 185 lbs.
It was easy to see why the tremendous freshman Brady Hart Brady Hart 6'4" | 185 lbs | QB Cocoa | 2026 FL earned varsity reps as a freshman for Melbourne High and he had a great showing at West Orange High School last Sunday. A legit 6’5, 185 lbs. with length, room to grow, and an already solid build, Hart threw a beautiful ball that snapped out of his hand and had one of the tighter spirals of the whole QB position, not just the first session he was a part of. Clean and consistent throwing motion, noticeable arm strength that could stretch the field and deliver shorter passes with velocity, and put the ball right on the money. There is a ton to like in his young skillset and he has a high ceiling as a prospect from the Sunshine State.
#131: Jackson Stecher Jackson Stecher 6'1" | 170 lbs | QB Master’s Academy | 2028 FL – 2028 (!) 5’11, 160 lbs.
A very promising and impressive seventh grader, this isn’t my first time running into Stecher and have seen him throw on a couple of occasions throughout Central Florida. Well-built, Stecher looks and plays far above his age and possesses arm talent and poise that I honestly I’ve never seen out of the middle school ranks. Did a great job through 1-on-1s as well and was more than able to complete every route on the route tree. We’ll be hearing a lot more about this kid in the future.
#121: Landen Holley Landen Holley 6'1" | 160 lbs | QB Wesley Chapel | 2027 FL – 2027. 6’1, 160 lbs.
Another talented young gunslinger I’ve had the pleasure of already running into and scouting since I’ve moved to the Sunshine State, eighth grader Landen Holley Landen Holley 6'1" | 160 lbs | QB Wesley Chapel | 2027 FL has a long, strong, and wiry frame and really stood out to me thanks to his accuracy while rolling out and on the move. He’s got a better arm than most high school sophomores I run across and can really sling the rock around. Confident and very coachable as well. Also a stud wrestler.
#228: Darryon Jones (Hillsborough) 2026. 6’3, 205 lbs.
The largest and most physically impressive QB of Group 1, Jones was all of his listed 6’3, 205 lb. frame and could throw a good deep ball and really bomb it downfield. Also had an engaging personality, was competitive and coachable, and seemed like a very fun person to play football with.
#219: Trey Hedden (Tampa Catholic) 2024. 6’3, 205 lbs.
The home to 4-star 2023 LB Lewis Carter Lewis Carter 6'0" | 200 lbs | LB Tampa Catholic | 2023 State FL also have themselves a heckuva signal-caller in ’24 Trey Hedden, who was one of the top-2 QBs at the NEXTGEN Orlando stop on Sunday and came away with an invite to The Show. A thick and solid 6’3, 205 lbs., Hedden has a rocket of an arm that was capable of throwing off platform and was laser accurate all afternoon long in Winter Garden. With a smooth throwing motion and a ton of confidence and poise, he threw his receivers open and was torching DBs in 1-on-1s. It was a strong showing and I’ll be keeping a close eye on the junior this offseason.
#135: Maximus Sims (St. Thomas Academy, MN) 2024. 6’2, 170 lbs.
Coming out of my home state of Minnesota, junior QB Maximus Sims plays football in the suburbs of St. Paul and had a strong performance over the course of the afternoon at West Orange High School. He got better as the day went on, which isn’t to say he wasn’t performing well before, because his arm strength, throwing motion, and delivery of the ball were there from his first warmup throw. During 1-on-1s, Sims showed great touch and timing and put the ball in great spots through tight coverage on a ton of reps. He made his WRs look good, and impressed coaches at the NEXTGEN regional as well. Representing MN well!
#14: Trever Jackson (West Orange) 2024. 6’2, 190 lbs.
One of the most prolific recruits and talents on Sunday came out of the hometown school West Orange and their baller of a 2024 QB Trever Jackson. Fresh off an Indiana Hoosier offer an hour or two before the event started, Jackson lived up the hype and had obvious and impressive arm talent that showed up every rep on the day. Could sling the ball in tight coverage with more zip and velocity than other QB at the event, especially when he really set his plant foot, and easily fling the ball 40-50 yards downfield on deep posts and fades. I also was impressed with his anticipation, overall accuracy, and his footwork in and around the pocket from position drills. Easy P5 talent poised for a monster senior season in 2023.
#216: Dylan Pelliccio Dylan Pelliccio 6'2" | 210 lbs | QB West Broward | 2025 State FL (Monsignor Pace) 2025. 6’2, 200 lbs.
Coming out of South Florida, Pelliccio had some strong reps over the course of the day and could stretch the field better than most when he turned it on.
#117: Terrell Russell Jr. (Alonso) 2025. 6′, 175 lbs.
Another Tampa product, Russell Jr. was one of the more athletic QBs at the NEXTGEN Orlando Regional stop and used great footwork and body control to move around the pocket and deliver passes off-platform during drill work. Also had a quick release, could generate noticeable zip on first and second level throws, and was a hard worker who was competitive and had no problem taking a lot of reps.
#230: Tyler Jones Tyler Jones 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Citrus | 2024 FL (Dunnellon) 2024. 6′, 190 lbs.
Kids out of Dunnellon are generally tough and although their 2024 QB Tyler Jones Tyler Jones 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Citrus | 2024 FL had an up-and-down day at times during Sunday’s NEXTGEN event his anticipation and ability to throw WRs open and into space was up there with the best at the event. Strong arm too that could rifle it into tight windows. Go Tigers!
#124: Preston Wright (Trinity Catholic) 2025. 6’1, 185 lbs.
Coming out of Ocala powerhouse Trinity Catholic, Wright got called into varsity action this fall and went 7-1 as a starter and threw at a 74% completion percentage as a young sophomore. That same accuracy was more than evident on Sunday too. Wright was patient, never forced the ball into tight coverage, and could whip the ball in on a rope with noticeable velocity and ease once he saw some space open up. Also very coachable and a good kid who I am excited to watch play next fall.
Wide Receivers
#46: Christian Rust Christian Rust 5'11" | 145 lbs | WR FL – 2027. 5’10, 155 lbs.
One of the most impressive middle schoolers at the entire NEXTGEN Regional stop in Orlando was eighth grade WR Christian Rust Christian Rust 5'11" | 145 lbs | WR FL , a Rhode Island native now playing in the heavyweight Ocoee youth ranks. Rust was more than comfortable against upperclassmen and varsity DBs and was strong enough to work through press coverage and stay on his marks and crafty in his releases at the LOS. He was also twitchy at the top of the route and had soft hands and had a lot of DBs spinning their heads around and grasping at air on Sunday.
#236: Tayshaun Franklin Tayshaun Franklin 6'1" | 195 lbs | WR Ware County | 2026 GA (Ware County, GA) 2026. 6’1, 185 lbs.
Georgia native and Ware County freshman Tayshaun Franklin Tayshaun Franklin 6'1" | 195 lbs | WR Ware County | 2026 GA was well put together and more physically imposing than your average freshman wideout and played to his weight, looking particularly impressive working through press coverage against physical DBs. Also was competitive, worked against the best CBs all day long in 1-on-1s, and was strong at the catch point and able to reel in contested receptions. Ware County had a good showing at the NEXTGEN Orlando stop and Franklin has a bright future ahead of him.
#36: Brandon Bennett (American Heritage) 2026. 6′, 165 lbs.
Coming out of powerhouse American Heritage down in Plantation, Bennett earned his first college offer in early December from Penn State, and I can see why the Nittany Lions offered up after seeing him play on Sunday. Ran one of the fastest 40s I personally saw, was a smooth and fluid athlete with good length for his size, and passed the eye test for being a young buck. Performed well during drill work and 1-on-1s, was fast, didn’t mind playing physically, and ran good routes. Yet another stud skill position to watch coming out of American Heritage.
#136: CJ Bronaugh (Foundation Academy) 2026.
A local Winter Garden prospect whose older brother will be featured in our RB review, freshman WR Bronaugh carried a strong, wiry build that was powerful and long and gave DB fits when trying to play press at the LOS. He also showed good body control, some shake as a route-runner, and an intense demeanor that was focused and ultra-competitive. He performed very well in 1-on-1s and overpowered DBs at the LOS and/or the catch point.
#34: Bryan Hamilton (Hillsborough) 2026. 5’8, 140 lbs.
Earned an invite to The Show, most notably for his fantastic effort during 1-on-1 competition. Possessing great body control and vertical ability, Hamilton made some snags during the afternoon at West Orange and pulled off some of the most athletic catches I saw on the day. Name to watch out of the 2026 WR class in Florida.
#214: Ryne Brown Ryne Brown 6'4" | 180 lbs | WR Winter Garden West Orange | 2025 FL (West Orange) 2025. 6’4, 180 lbs.
Another West Orange standout playing on his home field, Brown had one of the most eye-popping WR builds at the entire NEXTGEN Orlando Regional at a legit 6’4 with an even longer wingspan. He was an impressive route runner with a big catch radius and if he can continue to hit the weight room hard and add strength he’ll be a huge problem for Warrior opponents.
#21: Devonte Anderson (West Orange) 2026. 6′, 160 lbs.
Yet another West Orange top performer, Anderson was arguably the best receiver of the stacked session two group and was particularly impressive when the DBs came over and the two positions worked on pressing and getting off press man. Anderson thrived when he needed to be the most physical and had great releases at the LOS using a combination of quickness and strength. He is also surehanded, a crafty route runner, and a deep threat with speed and pace out of his stance and at the top end. P5 kid in my opinion.
#200: Jaylin Torres (Durant) 2024. 6′, 200 lbs.
A strong, powerful 200 lb. build and knew how to use it during 1-on-1s. One of the most physical WRs in attendance who had quick feet at the LOS and top of the route and could reel in contested catches. Good showing during 1-on-1s.
#232: Keyvon Reddick (Manatee) 2024. 5’9, 155 lbs.
Came alive during 1-on-1s and showed a nuanced route running game who was shifty and sudden out of his breaks and had a lot of DBs wrongly anticipating where he was going to cut.
#18: Bonshavior Bean Jr. (Manatee) 2024. 5’8, 155 lbs.
Another Manatee standout, Bean was productive and consistent during 1-on-1 competition and had some exciting reps where he burnt DBs by 5-10 yards and made highlight reel catches all over the field. Could create separation at any point of the route and was quick out of his breaks. Was a baller when it mattered most.
#215: Jo Hills (Palmetto) 2025. 6′, 180 lbs.
A well-built and powerful 180+, Hills fought through press coverage harder and more effectively than just about any other WR at West Orange High and had strong hands both when reeling in receptions and battling off the LOS against experienced CBs. Opponents thought twice about matching up with him at the LOS and Hills had a good day of work on Sunday.
Couldn’t get the names of whoever was wearing 16 but they had a good day as well.
