Expert Analysis
Alin Edouard | Prep Redzone Scout
Carson has posted a strong season with 843 receiving yards and 9 touchdowns, showing steady production and consistent impact in the passing game.
On film, he looks like a dependable target who understands how to work within the offense. He runs clean routes, finds open windows in coverage, and stays patient when working against different defensive looks. Carson does a good job of timing his breaks and giving his quarterback a reliable option on key downs.
At the catch point, he’s composed and secure. He tracks the ball well in the air, extends to make plays away from his body, and holds onto passes through contact. He’s the type of receiver who helps move the chains and finish drives when the offense needs it most.
With that production, Carson has shown he can be a consistent contributor and a reliable piece in the passing game who continues to grow as a playmaker. He currently holds offers from Baylor, Florida State, Houston, Iowa State, and Mississippi State.

Another somewhat jack-of-all-trades offensive weapon, LaCombe shifts all over the offense, utilizing his rare abilities in a plethora of ways. With his giant frame, Carson projects to be an elite red-zone target at the next level, boasting great contested catch ability and athleticism. He thrives at putting himself into position, boxing out defensive backs, and high-pointing the ball to bring down completions. LaCombe’s body balance control is extremely impressive for such a large frame. Carson’s versatile play style allowed him to even line up as a wildcat QB at times as a freshman. Taking his talents over to Pieper, LaCombe should build off a solid 2024 campaign that saw him produce nearly 300 yards and 5 total touchdowns. He has received offers from Utah and UTSA, and you can expect him to break out in 2025.

On the field, his play stands out in multiple phases. As a freshman, LaCombe showcased his physical dominance at the line of scrimmage—jamming defensive backs off the release and consistently winning contested catch situations . Film from early games even shows him taking snaps as a gadget-type wildcat QB, rushing for over 100 yards and making yet more clutch catches, compiling 180 receiving yards and five total touchdowns. That versatility—offensive creativity blended with route-running prowess—makes him a matchup problem at the next level.

Simply put, watching the film of his first two games, LaCombe is a man among boys at Whitehouse Junior High in Eastern Texas. Physically it’s just not a competition, as LaCombe is a 6-foot, 155-pound athlete that was doing 51.5″ box jumps this summer, while most of his competition was playing X-Box. His stat line from the first two games says it all. His team is 2-0 and has been victorious by a combined 56-8. In the first game, LaCombe accounted for three touchdowns, 10 tackles and interception. He followed that up in the second game with four touchdowns, four different ways: rush, passing, interception return and a fumble return.
