Cleveland Charlton Cleveland Charlton 6'5" | 185 lbs | WR Cardinal Hayes | 2024 State NY finally had his breakout year for Cardinal Hayes, and his production and performance on tape were a large reason that Cardinal Hayes’ high-octane offense was so effective all season long. Charlton made it clear this season that he was a Division 1 prospect.

In our rankings, Charlton has gone from 161 -> 91 – > 12 where he sits now. There was always potential with Charlton due to his size and his ability to create separation down the field. Charlton led the NYCHSFL in receiving yards hitting the 1,000 mark adding 12 touchdowns. Charlton did not produce much as a sophomore and junior but his ranking inside the top 100 after a junior year was just a testament to the potential he had. While we saw it all come together in a championship-winning season for Cardinal Hayes, expect Charlton to continue to grow and develop at the next level. He is headed to Towson and is a guy who could reach a much higher level of ball before his college career concludes.

Plenty of people talked about the potential Charlton has and we saw it come to fruition in 2023. Charlton at 6’5, was incredible at receiver. He had 41 grabs for 1,127 yards and 12 touchdowns. He had an unbelievable game winning touchdown against Iona Prep to secure the AAA title. Along with his big frame, Charlton runs a 4.5 forty yard dash. He showed off his speed all throughout the year and was able to come up with impressive catches all season long. He recently committed to play for Towson.

The lanky receiver has some of the most potential in the state. Charlton at 6’5 can move really well and he was a matchup problem all summer long. Now with more experience and athleticism, we could see Charlton having a special senior season. The redzone will be Charlton’s office and jump balls will be where he excels

At 6 foot 5, the potential for Charlton is really starting to show. He had a monster day at the Stony Brook 7v7 tournament. His catch radius and wingspan is insane and he used it to his advantage. Charlton made plays and when he high pointed the ball it was almost unfair. An underrated part of his game though is the speed Charlton has. The tall and lank receiver can flat out move. His long strides were guiding him past defenders during his deep routes and his hands were terrific. Consistency was something I kept an eye on, as just about every game Charlton was making plays, including a couple of redzone touchdowns.

A player who could really make a ton of noise this season on a Cardinal Hayes offense that is expected to put up big numbers.

Charlton should be pushed into a larger role for Cardinal Hayes and the 6’5 target could become a quality threat for the Hayes offense. Charlton has good speed and his long stride will help him create seperation down the field. Charlton has already showcased on tape he can make contested catches and that he has a large catch radius. For Charlton, the next step is really taking on that role of becoming the top target for Cardinal Hayes and improving on creating seperation at all three levels. The tools are their for Charlton so this season should be an exciting one and you could see Charlton shoot up our rankings with a much more consistent season where he one of the main factors in the offense.
