Smith’s go-to deep threat, Cloud, consistently overwhelms defensive backs with a large frame and long, smooth strides. Preston thrives at tracking deep balls down the sideline and over the middle of the field. He often then displays his excellent body control and hand-eye coordination to bring down footballs from a plethora of angles. Cloud also excels at using his combination of length and strength to high-point and come down with contested catches. He showcases a solid release and great straight-line speed to be an effective deep route runner, already projecting as an elite endzone target at the next level. Smith and Cloud are incredibly in sync and present a masterful connection over the top, leading to over 600 yards and 9 touchdowns last year. Cloud is another lengthy, contested catching upcoming senior who is due for a massive breakout in 2025. With a seemingly infinite catch radius and sharp route running, Cloud is one of the most under-the-radar stud wideouts in the state of Texas. After a strong 2024 that saw him accumulate 600 yards and 9 touchdowns, I wouldn’t be surprised if the dynamic playmaker goes for 1K his senior year. Expect another major impact for the Grizz this year, and Cloud to continue piling offers on top of Arizona State, Sacramento State, and Montana State.

Cloud is an explosive player, who runs sharps routes, he is quick in space and his ability to get open easily makes him a reliable target. He has a long, rangy frame with a large catch radius that enables him to make difficult grabs in traffic. Preston can switch gears quickly, when he gets in the open field, he explodes and he has the speed to make a house call for six from any down and distance. He has the skill set that college coaches covet at the next level and Arizona State sent out his first offer early last spring, but expect more to come his way. Cloud is a rising junior to be that should be on the radar heading into the fall season.
