Alin Edouard | Prep Redzone Scout
I first saw Young back in January at the You Are Athlete event in Dallas back in january , and the growth he has made over the last six months has been impressive. His development as a defensive back is noticeable, as he looks more confident, more polished, and more comfortable competing against top talent. Young showed he could make plays throughout the camp while continuing to improve the finer details of his game. His hard work and progression did not go unnoticed, as he earned an offer from UTSA. For a Class of 2030 prospect, Young is trending in the right direction and has a bright future ahead of him.

Young is a developing two-way athlete at defensive back and wide receiver who continues to take clear steps forward this offseason. His commitment shows through consistent work in 7-on-7 competition and training sessions with position coaches, and that added experience is starting to translate to on-field improvement.
At defensive back, he’s becoming more confident in coverage. He’s showing better patience in his backpedal, improved recognition of routes developing in front of him, and quicker reactions when breaking on the football. There’s still growth needed in consistency, but the progress is noticeable.
At wide receiver, Young is starting to look more natural running routes and finding ways to separate in space. He’s becoming more comfortable tracking the ball and competing at the catch point, especially in competitive 7-on-7 settings where timing and spacing are key.
The biggest takeaway is his growth mindset between offseason training and repeated reps in 7-on-7, Young is steadily refining both sides of his game.
