UTSA Football Camp - Who Stood Out?

<p>UTSA camp brought out a strong mix of young talent and rising prospects competing at a high level across multiple position groups. From quarterbacks delivering the ball with confidence and accuracy, to receivers creating separation and finishing plays, and defensive backs showing instincts in coverage and making plays on the football, there was no shortage of competitive moments throughout the day. His development as a defensive back is noticeable, as he looks more confident, more polished, and more comfortable competing against top talent. Young showed he could make plays throughout the camp while continuing to improve the finer details of his game. His hard work and progression did not go unnoticed, as he earned an offer from UTSA. For a Class of 2030 prospect, Young is trending in the right direction and has a bright future ahead of him.<br></p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Robert put together performance at the UTSA camp and made the most of the opportunity to learn from the coaching staff. Throughout the day, he showed a willingness to take instruction and apply what was being taught during drills. Robert also connected on several quality throws, displaying good touch and confidence as the camp progressed. While he put in good work as a stock blocker, he also showed reliable hands in the passing game. He tracked the ball well and secured catches cleanly in one-on-one situations, showing the ability to finish through contact and keep plays alive after the catch. What stood out just as much was how his footwork supported his passing ability—he stayed balanced in the pocket, set his base quickly, and was able to generate power without overstriding. That combination allowed him to get the ball out on time with real force behind it.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Devan looked sharp during cone drills, showing quick feet and smooth change of direction ability. He moved efficiently through each rep and maintained good body control while transitioning in and out of breaks. He came out of his stance with good intent and continued to refine his first-step quickness throughout the session. His release looked efficient, and he was able to deliver throws with confidence and consistency across different situations. As the night went on, his performance continued to hold up under pressure and competition. Beyond the blocking work, he also contributed in other phases of camp, showing soft hands when given opportunities in the passing game and finishing catches</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">got a chance to see Dwayne at the Texas State camp, and then again at the UTSA camp, where his continued growth really stood out. At Texas State, he had a strong enough showing to earn an offer, and he followed that up at UTSA by once again performing at a level that resulted in another offer. As a wide receiver, he showed consistency in how he moved through routes, along with the ability to create separation and make plays when the ball was in the air.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Cameron moved smoothly through wide receiver drills, showing good body control and fluid transitions in and out of his breaks. He stayed light on his feet during route work and looked comfortable handling the movement demands of the position.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Will put together a steady performance at camp and made the most of his opportunities throughout the day. He stayed locked in during drills, competed with consistent energy, and continued to adjust as coaching was applied</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Tyler had a strong overall showing at camp, highlighted by his athletic testing where he posted a 4.5 in the 40-yard dash and performed well across the board. He carried that athleticism into on-field work, showing burst and quickness through drills and position periods. Tyler look smooth through the bag drills.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Luke showed some encouraging flashes at wide receiver during camp, giving glimpses of his potential in both drills and competitive periods.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Marcus got in some solid work throughout the day and showed steady improvement as camp went on. He was very receptive to coaching, taking instruction well and quickly applying it during drills and competitive reps. That ability to adjust and translate what he was hearing onto the field stood out.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Cooper stood out during quarterback individual drills, not only because of his size and height, but also due to his overall skill set and movement. He showed smooth mobility while working through drill periods, staying balanced and controlled as he reset and delivered throws. His ball placement was a key strength throughout the session, consistently putting the ball where receivers could make plays.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Carson showed his versatility as an athlete at the UTSA camp, lining up primarily at defensive back while proving he can fit in multiple roles if needed. In coverage, he stayed tight in his assignments, using good positioning and awareness to stay connected through routes. Zay is in the class of 28, cant wait to see what he does this year.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Derek was one of the standout performers at camp today, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Playing defensive back, he showed strong instincts in coverage, staying disciplined in his leverage and consistently matching receivers step-for-step through routes. He competed confidently in one-on-ones and made several plays on the ball, using good timing and awareness to disrupt timing at the catch point. Derek was offered by UTSA at the end of camp.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Cameron showed solid effort going through the bags during camp drills, working with good energy and staying engaged through each rep. He took in coaching well and made adjustments as the session went on, showing a willingness to learn and improve.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Julian had a productive day at the UTSA camp and really stood out during the one-on-one competition period. He competed with confidence in coverage, stayed disciplined throughout his reps, and showed the ability to make plays on the football. His best moment came when he came away with an interception, highlighting his awareness and ball skills.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Brooks put together a good performance at the UTSA camp from start to finish. He tested well early in the day and carried that momentum into the position work and competitive periods. During concept drills and one-on-one matchups, Brooks consistently created separation with his movement skills and ability to get in and out of breaks. He also showed reliable hands, finishing catches cleanly and making the most of his opportunities when the ball came his way. His ability to separate and complete plays made him one of the more productive receivers throughout the camp.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">I got the chance to watch Troy for a while at the UTSA camp, and the left-handed quarterback put together a solid day. He was very coachable throughout the session, taking instruction from coaches and working to apply it during drills. Troy threw the ball well, showing confidence in his mechanics and making accurate throws throughout the camp. His willingness to learn and improve stood out, and he continued to get better as the day progressed.</p>     <p class="text-gray-700">Liberty got some valuable work in at the UTSA camp and made the most of his opportunities throughout the day. He stayed engaged during drills, competed hard, and continued to improve as the camp went on. Each rep gave him a chance to develop his technique and gain experience against quality competition.</p>    <p>Overall, the UTSA camp was a productive and competitive environment that highlighted both established performers and under the radar prospects making strides. With several players earning offers and others continuing to trend upward, the camp proved to be another strong evaluation setting for identifying talent and tracking growth moving into the summer.</p>   <p>I will also be at UTSA Next Camp on June 11th.</p>   <p></p>
