The showcase featured approximately 100 prospects from the 2023, 2024, 2025 and 2026 classes and included testing in the 40-yard dash (laser) and pro-agility drill before moving on to positional and one-on-one drills.
Here is a quick look at some of the players who stood out:
RB Messiah Smith Messiah Smith 5'10" | 155 lbs | RB Parkway North | 2025 State MO , Parkway North
Smith, who measured in at 5 feet 9 1/2 inches and 151 pounds, ran the 40-yard dash in 4.69 seconds and recorded a pro-agility time of 4.66 seconds.
He is coming off a freshman season where he was the Vikings’ third-leading rusher, rushing for 329 yards and averaging 6.2 yards per carry. He scored three touchdowns.
WR Trey Bass Trey Bass 5'10" | 170 lbs | WR Lutheran North | 2025 State MO , Lutheran North
Measuring in at 5-9 1/2 and 165 pounds, Bass recorded a pro-agility time of 4.42 seconds and a 40 time of 4.89 seconds. He is expected to have a big role for the Crusaders this fall, as a sophomore, and his quarterback will be fellow sophomore Dakarri Hollis Dakarri Hollis 6'1" | 185 lbs | QB Lutheran North | 2025 State MO .
WR AJ Byerley AJ Byerley 6'0" | 155 lbs | WR De Smet | 2025 State MO , De Smet
Byerley, who measured in at 6-0 and 152 pounds, recorded a pro-agility time of 4.53 seconds and a 40 time of 4.84 seconds. He’s a player to watch this fall as a potential breakout candidate but may be a year away from receiving a much bigger share of snaps at wide receiver.
WR Colin Griffin Colin Griffin 6'3" | 200 lbs | ATH De Smet | 2025 IL , De Smet
Griffin is a bigger wide receiver at 6-0 and 210 pounds and may be a better prospect at defensive end or linebacker, but he’s definitely a prospect to keep an eye on in the future. He recorded a pro-agility time of 4.84 seconds and a 40 of 5.0 seconds.
WR Corey Simms Corey Simms 6'3" | 190 lbs | WR CBC | 2025 State MO , CBC
Simms, who measured in at 6-1 and 180 pounds, recorded a pro-agility time of 4.3 seconds. He’s a good looking prospect at wide receiver or at safety and already has an early scholarship offer from the University of Missouri.
OL Michael Cunningham Michael Cunningham 6'4" | 275 lbs | OL De Smet | 2025 State MO , De Smet
Cunningham measured in at 6-4 and 260 pounds after measuring in at 6-3 and 257 pounds at the Elite Football Combine in March. He recorded pro-agility time of 4.46 seconds and looked good in one-on-one drills.
We love Cunningham’s potential and if he’s still growing taller that will only help. He saw considerable action on the varsity level as a freshman last fall, playing in the interior, which will also help as he continues to gain experience over the next three years.
OL Donovan Fitzmaurice Donovan Fitzmaurice 6'4" | 285 lbs | DL Marquette | 2025 State MO , Marquette
Last time we wrote about Fitzmaurice, following the Elite Football Combine in March, we said he would be a better prospect on the defensive line because he measured in at 6-1 and 226 pounds but still showed good athleticism.
Two months later, at this Showcase, Fitzmaurice measured in at 6-3 and 250 pounds — two inches taller and 24 pounds heavier – and recorded pro-agility time of 4.35 seconds, which was a little faster than his 4.38 time in March. (He may have been shortchanged on his height in March, but even so he’s looking more like an offensive line prospect.)
We may still like him more on the defensive line, but he could emerge as a nice prospect at guard or center if he’s still growing.
OL Drue Kitchen Drue Kitchen 6'3" | 315 lbs | OL Lafayette | 2025 State MO , Lafayette
Kitchen measured in at 6-2 and 308 pounds and recorded a pro-agility time of 5.66. He played left tackle last year and he’ll likely have to move inside at the next level, but Kitchen will be a player to watch the next three years.
