Daniel Okoye
Daniel
Okoye
6'4" | 225 lbs | DL
NOAH | 2024
State
OK
– NOAH
(Ranked #2 Overall – #2 DL)
I can’t exactly remember the first time I watched film on NOAH defensive lineman Daniel Okoye Daniel Okoye 6'4" | 225 lbs | DL NOAH | 2024 State OK , but from that moment it was clear that he was one of the best looking athletes in the state’s 2024 class. Over the last month, more people are starting to notice as well and he’s rocketed up the rankings to the #2 spot, behind Durant lineman XaDavien Sims XaDavien Sims 6'4" | 275 lbs | DL Durant | 2024 State OK . Okoye absolutely looks the part physically and in addition to seeing him on film, we checked out the NOAH wrecking ball at a team camp a few weeks ago. When he wants to take a game over, he has that potential with several moves to absolutely terrorize opposing offensive linemen. The recruitment of Okoye has taken off as well as he has quickly become a national prospect. Okoye’s combination of speed, power and quickness make him so difficult for opposing offensive linemen. Don’t be surprised if more college football powers start going after the home-school star.
Will Smith
Will
Smith
6'4" | 240 lbs | DL
Choctaw | 2024
State
OK
– Choctaw
(Ranked #15 Overall – #4 DL)
We’ve written about Choctaw 2024 standout Will Smith Will Smith 6'4" | 240 lbs | DL Choctaw | 2024 State OK a few times in the last six months and we’re still not sure that he should be considered a defensive lineman but that’s where we’re putting him right now. Smith is a very impressive athlete and that athleticism just jumps off the page at you and this fall, the Yellowjackets plan on utilizing that athleticism on both sides of the ball. Smith will also line up as a tight end, in addition to being a defensive end and an outside linebacker when they’re in a 3-4 look defensively. I first got a chance to see Smith on the basketball court and saw the kind of athlete that Smith was up close. Despite being a pretty good basketball player, his athleticism and size just screamed potential star in football. He still hasn’t had that breakout moment on the gridiron but we don’t think it’s a matter of if it happens, but when it happens and against which team this fall.
Malachi Wrice
Malachi
Wrice
6'6" | 245 lbs | DL
McAlester | 2024
State
OK
– McAlester
(Ranked #27 Overall – #5 DL)
Another prospect that is similar to Choctaw’s Smith is McAlester standout Malachi Wrice Malachi Wrice 6'6" | 245 lbs | DL McAlester | 2024 State OK . Ever since his freshman season, Wrice was one of the more impressive looking prospects that took the field for the Buffaloes. However, as he’s continued to grow, it becomes more apparent that he could go a few different ways as far as being a college prospect. At the very beginning, we thought he might be a tight end. Then we shifted gears to defense and have him as a defensive lineman. But in the back of our head we think he could be a dominating offensive lineman in the right college program. So the sky is the limit for Wrice in terms of versatility. However, We still want to see him have that kind of impact on the field this upcoming fall. The Buffaloes lose a lot of key pieces, especially on defense. Wrice will have an opportunity to be a breakout star for McAlester as they try to make it back to Edmond.
Raymond Correa
Raymond
Correa
6'3" | DL
Jones | 2024
OK
– Jones
(Ranked #62 Overall – #6 DL)
Jones defensive lineman Raymond Correa Raymond Correa 6'3" | DL Jones | 2024 OK was one of the very first 2024 prospects that I personally saw in person on a Friday night. It was early in the 2020 season and Jones was playing Lincoln Christian. Correa was just a freshman but he was already an impressive looking athlete. Fast forward to today and he’s still an impressive looking defensive tackle prospect. While our first three prospects on the defensive line will definitely be edge guys, if not move back to linebacker, Correa is all about the interior and clogging up potential running lanes and becoming a serious problem for opposing offensive lines. Correa is one of those defensive tackles that you have to spend time game-planning for and using two guys to stay in front of him because he’s a problem up the middle. He can really do damage against a running game and can even get after the passer.
Teyon Brewer
Teyon
Brewer
6'3" | 245 lbs | DL
Muskogee | 2024
State
OK
– Muskogee
(Ranked #63 Overall – #7 DL)
We’ve mentioned a few times over the last several months that Muskogee has some serious talent in the younger classes and here’s another example of that. Defensive lineman Teyon Brewer Teyon Brewer 6'3" | 245 lbs | DL Muskogee | 2024 State OK is yet another Rougher in the 2024 class that has already had a big impact for Muskogee on Friday nights. Now, the Roughers are coming off a losing season but Brewer and the other young standouts have gone thru the growing pains and appear ready to take the next step towards being a contender in Class 6A-2. Brewer is definitely more in the mold of our first three prospects and he’s more of a defensive end prospect at the next level. He plays with intensity and will absolutely terrorize an opposing offense. He’s great at getting after the quarterback but he also has shown the ability to stop the run in a big way. We can only tell you so many times to watch out for the Roughers this fall as we believe a big year is about to happen.
