Here’s a breakdown of a few guys based on what we were able to gather after watching their film:
Dashun Reeder Dashun Reeder 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Christ Church | 2024 State SC (@Dash_reeder9228), 5-10, 175 lbs., RB, Christ Church (@ccesfootball)
What is most impressive about Reeder when you watch him on film is his vision. He runs hard once he gets into open space and he uses his speed to outrun defenders. Be careful trying to arm tackle this guy as well because he will run right through it.
Zion Dobson Zion Dobson 5'10" | 175 lbs | RB Hampton County | 2024 State SC (@zion_dobson), 5-10, 155 lbs., ATH, Wade Hampton (@WHRedDevilFB)
Dobson has an impressive combination of speed and power at his running back position. He doesn’t waste time dancing in space once the ball is in his hands. He can catch the ball out of the backfield on flare passes, as well as line up at receiver and make something happen on a quick throw.
Devan Crumpton Devan Crumpton 5'11" | 160 lbs | DB Spring Valley | 2024 State SC (@Crump10Diggy), 5-10, 145 lbs., DB, Spring Valley (@TheValley_FB)
Crumpton pursues the football with a purpose at his safety position and reacts quickly to make tackles. He has the speed to keep up with receivers and that speed is useful on special teams or on offense at wide receiver in the screen game, like we saw on his film.
Antrone Butler Antrone Butler 5'10" | 170 lbs | ATH Midland Valley | 2024 State SC (@Antrone15), 5-10, 170 lbs., ATH, Midland Valley (@MVHS_FB)
Butler is primarily used at running back and can make things happen once he gets into space. He finds lanes and quickly turns up field to get five to ten yards. At wide receiver, his biggest strength is blocking down field and sustaining them. He can line up to punt and there was one play on a bad snap where he booted the ball inside the 30-yard line.
Jaidyn Penix Jaidyn Penix 6'0" | 205 lbs | LB Summerville | 2024 State SC (@JaidynPenix), 6-0, 185 lbs., LB, Summerville (@SummervilleFB)
Penix excels at his outside linebacker spot in being able to come downhill and make tackles at the LOS quickly. He defeats blocks quickly once he recognizes the play. He recorded an interception and a PBU from what we saw on his film. He hustles to the ball on the punt coverage team as well.
